Synopsis:
Set entirely on Brooklyn Bridge, this one act musical explores, time, change, and the choices that shape the lives of five very different people, whose paths cross in the most unlikely of ways.
Suspended between who they were, and what they might become, From Up Here, written intentionally with no real back stories, and very little to go on besides what each decides to share (as strangers often do), through the lyrics of the songs, all bare a piece of their souls while providing a bit of insight as to the places they hold in this world.
Featuring a vibrant, beautiful, and often witty musical score, From Up Here is an unforgettable musical that dares to ask the question,
"what makes life worth living?".
DON'T MISS IT!
The start of the season for us was our FabYULous Holiday Cabaret. Such joy was evident in the theatre over that weekend. Please take a moment and enjoy the end song, the only acapella song in the show, a way to send the audience off to have a Merry Little Christmas! Featuring some of our adult students and two of our highschool students.
Just what everyone needs! Pure, unadulterated holiday cheer! Join us for only two performances and start your festive month off right. Ugly Sweaters, Santa Hats and Reindeer Antlers are welcomed. Take an "elfie" pic with your friends and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Featuring beautiful voices from our adult acting classes.
Happy Halloween! These last couple weeks found our youth classes exploring character through costuming. We simply tell them it is costume design week and to come up with character, background story etc, and how they think that character would dress. Here is some of what they came up with!
Join us for our first production in our family series, featuring our resident company of actors ages 10-18.
Les Misérables’, written by Victor Hugo (who also wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame), is a timeless classic that is beloved by all the world over. It’s a story of redemption, love, justice & injustice, and encourages hope in the face of adversity, as it follows the life of the noble peasant, Jean Valjean, an ex-convict imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family, who is on the run from the relentless Inspector Javert.
The story is as old as time... a battle between good and evil, and follows Jean Valjean from 1815 to the barricades during the Paris uprising of 1832.
This gripping play version adapted from the novel by Tim Kelly, has been specifically designed for very simple production and is under two hours. Filled with fascinating vignettes of nineteenth century France, we meet the tragic Fantine and her daughter Cosette, the wretched Madame Thenardier, the lovelorn Eponine, and many others. Don't miss it! Only 3 performances, Nov. 3-5. Details on reservations and tickets at hattheatre.org

Lewiston, by Samuel D. Hunter. Directed by Julie Fulcher-Davis. Set next to a rural highway in Idaho at a dilapidated fireworks stand, family secrets are revealed as Alice and her long lost granddaughter Marnie, spar over the land that has been in the family for generations, while Connor, Alice's roommate,
must re-evaluate his place in the world and move forward.
It's about family, it's about a love for the land, even with all its scars.
It has humor, it has heart, and it is about LIFE. Don't miss this beautiful story. hattheatre.org for details, seating and reservations. Starring Boomie Pedersen, Ashley Thompson, and Paul James. Only 6 performances in this limited run. Don't miss it! March 3-12

As we continue our 30th season, we are proud to announce our cast and creative team for "Lewiston" by Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale, A Bright New Boise). Having produced "The Whale" in 2015 (yes, the play that the new movie is based on), we decided to re-visit Samuel D. Hunter's unique voice for this milestone year.
Directed by Julie Fulcher-Davis
Starring Boomie Pedersen (Alice)
Ashley Thompson (Marnie)
Paul James (Connor)
Set Design by Vinnie Gonzalez, Light Design by Lane Kinsley, Props by Kimberly Strother, Production Stage Manager V. L. Scallion
Set at a firework stand off a rural Idaho highway, this deeply moving story explores the emotional frontiers of a family struggling to make a home in the vastness of the American landscape.
In a scene played out all over America, farmland held for generations is being swallowed up by developers. Against this backdrop, Alice, who has sold most of her land, and her roommate Connor, sit by their bedraggled roadside stand selling cheap fireworks, having been promised a condo in the new development and a secure future. Enter Marnie, Alice's long lost granddaughter she hasn't seen in 15 years, who wants to buy the land to save her family's legacy. With deeply held secrets, uncertain pasts, and hopeful futures, Samuel D. Hunter's play is poetically heightened by a keen sense of the beautifully drawn characters’ inner lives and their resigned (at least in Alice’s and Connor’s cases) places in the world.
Great opening weekend at Popcorn Falls! See what audiences are saying, and make sure to stop by this next weekend and visit a bit with Mayor Trundle and Joe. They would love to see you! www.hattheatre.org
