Do you know current or former Virginia Commonwealth University students who make music? 🐏 🎶

This term's 410.Media Entrepreneurship class has formed The 410Collective and the students will be producing and releasing an album; featuring music from past and current VCU students, to be released the first week of December.

💿 The album is yet untitled, but the theme is "What's Your RVA Mantra?"

As the Collective's call-to-action, they are soliciting songs from interested current and past Rams.

It's Høly River's album release party for their newly pressed vinyl Courage! Høly River's beloved album "Courage" is now available on vinyl. Pressed at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville NC on Recycled mixed color vinyl (scraps left over from other projects), each vinyl is a totally unique and one of a kind color combination.The Deluxe Package includes: the full length album signed with a handwritten lyric, the 7 inch single of their classic song “Høly River”, and some limited edition stickers! 🏆💗

The music of Høly River carries the message of humanity’s need for reconnection with the earth. Mystically political and wholeheartedly grassroots, this DIY band finds themselves playing on large festival stages as well as backyard fire pits of intentional communities around the world.

Where have I heard that song before? If you answered a Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez movie, then you know the sound of Shockoe Records recording artists, Los Hermanos Alacranes. 🎼 The band came together in February of 2023, but in that short time, the band opened for Los Lobos, played the 2023 Richmond Folk Festival, and were signed to the Richmond, Va record label Shockoe Records.

Lead singer and songwriter Paulo Franco is a first generation American whose parents were raised in Medellín, Colombia. He switches his voice from country twang, to rock anthem, to Spanish troubadour with ease. Rounding out are Paul Pearce on lead guitar and vocals, Rob Lytle on drums and vocals, and Chad Bennett on bass guitar while Turtle Zwadlo is away on hiatus. 🥁🎤🎸 Are you ready to get stung? Because Los Hermanos Alacranes are ready to serve up their unique blend of Cinematic Rock with a Spanish Soul! Lleno de Veneno!! 🦂
