SAVE THE DATE! Springforth Ball, Richmond, VA’s very own contra dance weekend is April 11-13, 2025. We’ll have music by Playing with Fyre and calling by Bob Isaacs, along with great workshops, and social meals including Sunday morning waffle brunch. Rhythmajigs and Bill Wellington are back for our September 28th dance at WEB! All are welcome to join our community dance. Beginners are invited to learn the basics in a lesson at 6:45 and all dances will be taught. See y’all there!

Richmond Contra Dance (TADAMS)

Just one dance in August, so don’t miss music by Afton Crossing with calling by George Segebade on Saturday the 24th. It’ll probably be hot outside, but the AC at WEB is keeping the dance floor cool. See y’all there!

It’s not fall yet... but it will be! With the return of the cooler months will come the return of our 2nd Sunday afternoon dances at LGRA, but until then, we’d love to have you at our year-round 4th Saturday evening dance series at WEB (it’s air conditioned). Swing you soon!

Don’t miss Playing with Fyre 2 on Saturday July 27 with the incredible duo of George Paul on piano and Rob Zisette on fiddle. All dances will be taught and called by Joy Greenwolfe with a beginner lesson at 6:45pm. Plus, word on the street is we’ll have a cookout potluck before the dance, so stay tuned for more 👀

REPOSTED! .band is stopping in Richmond on Wednesday, July 10, so we are dancing (and you should too)! Dance from 7-10pm with a beginner lesson at 6:30, all dances taught and called by Brian Hamshar. This their ONLY stop between SC and NY, so don’t miss it! 2300 John Rolfe Pkwy- it’s air conditioned with plenty of parking.

Super excited to be included on Cojiro’s tour and to have them come play for our dance this Saturday! Cojiro is Mark Price on guitar and mandolin, Jess Newman on fiddle, and Ben Graubart on mandolin. Gwyn Williams is teaching and calling the dances. See you there!

Our next Richmond contra dance is Saturday evening May 25 at WEB. We’ll have Cojiro coming all the way down from Massachusetts to play for us and Gwyn Williams coming in from Yorktown to teach and call the dances. Hope to swing you there!

Join us at Ginter Rec for an afternoon Ceilidh (pronounced KAY-lee) with a selection of English Country Dances and Scottish Country Dances followed by Contras.
