After years of study, playing for churches, performances/concerts, plays/musicals, & more, Karis McGowan is headed to Tennessee State University this Fall to Major in Biology & Minor in MUSIC!!! We could not be more proud!

Inspired by Alvin Ailey’s Revelations, Wade in the Water is a depiction of African American slaves waiting for the miracle of freedom. They sang this to remind each other that “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” because just as He delivered the Israelites from the hands of Pharaoh, delivered Daniel from the Lions Den & healed the sick man who had no one to put him in the troubled water at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-9), why would He not deliver them too. In present day, it serves as a reminder to stay in the fight, don’t shrink, don’t give up or give in— WADE IN THE WATER… because God is going to trouble the water.
