Fish 13, Tilden 2 today to earn your Fighting Fish their third WBA title in the last five years. A run like this has only been done a few times in the last 70-ish years of the WBA.

The team swept the post season awards from the WBA including defensive MVP (Brian Giebel), offensive MVP (Lucas Luedtke), pitcher of the tournament (Kyle Fritz), and most importantly to us, the Elmer Swanson Sportsmanship Award. A sweep of those honors is a rarity.

There are too many people to thank tonight, and to borrow a phrase from Kevin Westhuis, we will “put a bow on it” later this week. For now, please know it meant the absolute world to these players to do this in our park for the great fans and friends we have here in River Falls. First National Bank of River Falls Field and the city of River Falls is a special, special place. That was a big topic of conversation all summer within the team.

Okay Fish fans - this is where we need your help! The boys will host the state finals next weekend, and we'd like to find enough volunteers to staff our admissions tables and Leinie Lodge.

This would allow the players to focus on playing baseball for the weekend rather than also have to work the tournament.

The Fish ended the regular season with two more wins over the weekend, pushing their regular season record to 24-7 overall and 17-1 in the SCVBL.

Up next: the SCVBL Tournament in New Richmond this weekend. The Fish will take on the winner of Plum City/Bay City at 4:00pm on Saturday in New Richmond.

It was a great weekend for baseball National Bank of River Falls Field! Awesome crowds and good baseball... it's been another fun summer so far!

The Fish have been tasked with raising the money to host playoffs again this year - and this year we are hosting both the WBA Regionals (August 9-11) and then the Class A Baseball Association (WBA) Finals the following weekend (August 16-18).

We are looking for fourteen $250 sponsorships to cover the hosting fees, umpires, and baseballs for the two weekends for support amateur baseball in Wisconsin for our community and across the WBA.
