For this week’s spotlight feature, we have our Wellness Coordinator, Hung Wu! Here is what he does to stay healthy: “My wife and I start our day at 4:30 am with mindfulness and mobility exercises. From 5:00 am to 6:30 am, we follow a diverse workout routine. Throughout the day, we balance our job duties with staying connected to each other, family, friends, and colleagues. We simplify our meals by food prepping on Sundays, focusing on plant-based options like beans, rice, tofu, quinoa, and vegetables. This helps us eat healthily without spending too much time cooking. We wrap up our day with light stretching and deep breathing before going to bed by 9:00 pm.”

Did you know that being outside can have a big impact on your health? Studies have indicated that spending time in natural settings, like parks, forests, or gardens, can have positive effects on mood, blood pressure, stress levels, and mental health in general. This idea, which is sometimes called “ecotherapy” or “green therapy,” emphasizes how nature can improve human health. The body and mind can be revitalized by even a quick stroll in a natural setting. So the next time you’re feeling anxious or overburdened, think about going for a walk outside and taking in the stunning surroundings!
