We have to face those fears that tell us to turn around and that it’s not safe, and tell that part, “I’m doing it anyways.” Then is where we begin the journey of reclaiming who we were always designed to be: in our power, free, and confident.

Recently, I have been able to focus on me a little more than usual now that my children are visiting their other parent.
And my focus has been on my voice, my story, my inner deepest parts of me that I haven’t been able to slow down enough to fully listen to.
She’s been calling me to come out from under the rock and shine. And how scary and exciting that is to shine your light to the world. For years, I hid myself behind a smile, knowing that my smile told everyone else that it’s okay and that what they were doing and saying was okay. I was just a smile and no voice.
Now it’s time to change the narrative. And we can always start. It just takes a step. I will honor myself in this process, in this part of my journey. And show myself grace.
No longer am I just a smile, I am so much more. I’ve decided. I’ve declared.
