We just received correspondence from the California Board of Cosmetology warning consumers against home-based, unlicensed/uninsured, illegal service offerings. These pose significant dangers to consumers, as they may not have the necessary training, expertise, understand cleanliness and Universal Safety Precautions, be licensed, professional and insured to provide safe and effective treatments to the public like our amazing staff at The Wax Lounge.

As of recent, it’s especially concerning to hear about unqualified/unlicensed Estheticians illegally using medical devices such as lasers, RF, doing injectables, etc which can only be operated by licensed medical professionals. Laser treatments can have serious implications if not performed correctly, so it's essential to seek out professionals who have the appropriate qualifications and expertise.

If you have any concerns about the legitimacy or safety of a beauty or wellness service, we would recommend reaching out to a regulatory authority like the Board of Cosmetology in California, They can provide guidance and help ensure that you make informed decisions about the services you choose to receive.

Remember, prioritizing your safety and well-being is always worth the investment versus saving a few dollars that will most likely send you to a visit to the ER and end up costing you a lot more time, money, damages, etc

The moral of this story: Don’t be a “cheapo.” Invest only in qualified, licensed and reputable professionals that you can trust or you will probably end up on one of those Reality TV shows called something like, “My Cheap A** Sent Me to The ER” Or “Saved A Buck, Lost Some Lips.”
