On May 11, 2024, we partnered with rivcohealthfoundation, Residents of Eastside Active in Leadership (REAL),
peddlepowerbmx and other organizations for the Longfellow Elementary Bike Rodeo/Giveaway! Our Riverside Captain Steve Branconier spoke with the students about the importance of always attending school and also offered some bike safety tips.

The kids were all smiles as they received a brand new bike prior to kicking off their summer break. The kids also participated in our bike rodeo, where they learned safe riding techniques and applied them on the bike course. Our officers had a great time interacting with the kids in this positive environment. With the help from our officers and peddlepower staff, some kids even learned how to ride a bike for the very first time!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and lent a helping hand. Over 100 new bikes were provided to deserving kids at Longfellow Elementary. Thanks to our CHP officers who came out from various areas to assist us in making this bike rodeo a huge success.
Our riversideexplorerpost840 also did an amazing job with the kids! Remember, always wear your helmet, stay visible, and alert at all times!
