Check out this Oregon sunstone ring we just finished! We like how it’s open and delicate, and the citrine side stones are a beautiful contrast in color and texture. The sparkles inside sunstones are called schiller, and are caused by tiny flecks of shiny copper inside the feldspar.

New tools are so exciting! Check out this model made with our newest rapid prototyper. It has much nicer surface finish, and the green color makes it easier to inspect all the little details that make a design sing. We’ll take the tourmaline butterfly wings out for casting, and then our jeweler will polish the model by hand and set them into the gold. Combining new technology with traditional hand craftsmanship allows us to bring jewelry dreams to life faster and with unparalleled precision.

Mardon will be closed this coming week April 9 - 13 for rest and spring cleaning. We’re open today (Saturday 4/6) as usual until 5:30 pm. We’ll be back and better than ever on the 16th. Thank you!!!

We’re working on a pendant for this fabulous Ethiopian opal that reminds us of a rainbow sprinkled Easter egg! We wish you a wonderful Easter weekend, with safe travels in the rain 🥰 The orange area to the left is the back of the pendant, still in its wax frame. Next that part will be cast in gold, and then prongs and a bail will get soldered on.

We’re working on adding some new designs to our Matilija Poppy collection. The crinkly texture of the petals is coming out great! These are fresh castings that have gone through the first stage of cleaning, 18 karat gold and silver.

Another beautiful, sunny afternoon! Here is another way to enjoy Aquamarine, in a carved gem sculpture. This one is big enough to enjoy on a desk but would also make a great pendant or pin.

We’ve had gorgeous sunsets so far this new year! This bright orange Mandarin Garnet ring has some fiery sunset color. If you were born in January, this is just one shade of Garnet you can choose for your birthstone 🤩

Lots of people inherit tiny watches that are impossible to read with old fashioned windup movements. They are not very practical as watches in 2023, but we can help you repurpose them! This Art Deco watch case transformed into a beautiful, sculptural pendant.

We just finished this custom ring. It’s a recreation of our customer’s grandmother’s wedding ring. The antiquey center setting style is called a buttercup because of the flaring golden petals at the base. Buttercup styles often have very long prongs that help show off the sides of a gemstone.
