Had blast fishing the Ozello Keys Marina HO HO HO Fishing for Dough Kayak Tournament and meeting up with good friends. Don’t know my final place overall, but at check in I was in 8th out of 101 anglers. Ready for next year.

Today was fun. Windy but fun. . Got the biggin (42.5”) on a mullet using 20 lb braid with 30lb leader, and the others on top water. Docks and wind were a big factor, but the Hobie Pro Angler 360 got it done and was able to beach the kayak to land her.

Today was juvenile fish day. Caught 9 mutton,4 Mangs, and 3 Lanes along with 12 Small snook. I did submit the 3 snappers for the Family Grand Slam with MyFWC, Catch a Florida Memory. Why not?

Frank from Peru checked off some first species before the boat mayhem started. Tons of juvenile snappers as well.

Nothing like a father and son trip. John was so stoked to get his first Peacock Bass since they don’t have any in Minnesota. His dad Dave caught a couple nice ones as well including a nice Largemouth. Even had a visit from a water snake.

Fish today with the West Palm Beach Fishing Club to tag Juvenile Mutton Snapper for marine research. I did manage to catch a mutton snapper but too small for tagging and I forgot to get a pic, but did manage to get some species of fish. The yellowtail was just under size to bring home.
