We are pleased to bring you an exclusive interview with the new Robstown Baseball Head Coach, Coach "Rusty" Miller.
For nearly 30 years, Coach Elias Vasquez has led the Robstown Cotton Picker Baseball team through many triumphs and victories. We are honored to have witnessed the many accomplishments he has brought to the team and to our community. We have many fond memories of great baseball games against many odds and against many fine South Texas teams. As alums ourselves, we have always made it a point to show our support and gratitude. We know it is not easy to lead a high school baseball team with high expectations every year. At the end of the day, the players are high school students. We have always believed that our unique community comes together to support good sportsmanlike conduct, healthy competition, and accomplishment, regardless whether we win or lose. Our town may be small but our alums are across the nation and around the world. No where else will you find a Cotton Picker mascot like ours. So, that makes the whole experience special and extraordinary. We believe that Coach Vasquez knew these ideals and principles. We believe he has contributed much to the already stellar history of the Robstown Cotton Pickers Baseball program. For that, we will miss him but also we remember all that he has accomplished. His legacy continues because our community continues and it shows no signs of going away. We will always remember him and his hard work. Coach, it was an honor to see you in action on our Centennial Season! We get one Centennial Season in a lifetime and we are happy that you were there and continued our Cotton Picker legacy. We wish you all the best from grateful alums and a grateful community of fans everywhere. Job well done, Coach! We hope your next chapter is great in whatever you endeavor to do. #cottonpickerforever
