We have officially wrapped up all things Shakespeare Upon Avon for the year and want to thank everyone who joined us for Hamlet this summer!

In case you missed our in-person announcement, we have decided to move Shakespeare Upon Avon from our normal July slot to September starting next year. We are excited about this change as it will mean milder weather for our outdoor performances. This time slot will also give us the ability to have an alternate indoor space available for all performances in case of inclement weather. This is something we are very excited about because we will have the ability to schedule an accessible indoor performance for anyone unable to join us at the Pit Theater.

We had a blast this summer and are looking forward to the next Shakespeare Upon Avon in September 2025!

Every summer the Rochester Christian University Theatre Company partners with UnCovered Theatre Company to produce the award-winning Shakespeare festival: Shakespeare Upon Avon. Professional actors and directors from around the country come together on RCU's campus each year to perform some of the Bard's best plays. This year’s show is one of Shakespeare’s best-known tragedies: Hamlet. Grab your favorite lawn chair and join us for a fun evening of Shakespeare in beautiful Lake Norcentra Park!

Performances of Hamlet will be July 18-20 and July 25-27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $13 in advance ($16 at the door) for adults. This production is a part of Shakespeare Upon Avon, UnCovered Theatre Company & Rochester University’s award-winning Shakespeare festival. All performances will take place on RU’s outdoor stage. This is a Non-Equity production. We encourage performers of all ethnicities, race, and age to audition. We are open to nontraditional casting!

Unfortunately, tonight's performance of Twelfth Night is cancelled due to weather. The forecasts were in our favor throughout the day but some thunderstorms popped up last minute and we had to make the difficult decision to cancel. If you had a ticket for tonight, you will be automatically reimbursed and we hope you will join us for another performance next week. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you next weekend!

Last night we had our first performance of Twelfth Night! The stormy weather completely turned around and it was the perfect night for some outdoor theatre.
