Congrats to Cora and Lila on their first pairs of pointe shoes! 🎉✨ Cora went home in Suffolk Sonnets while Lila rocked her R-Class RC-20s. These besties not only matched their outfits but also their toe pads and mesh bags. Here’s to many more pirouettes and adventures together! 🩰💕

✨ There are not pointe fittings this weekend because owner Cindy and managers and fitters Lillian and Kate are spending their weekend in Chicago at Revolution’s Energize dance conference! We’re excited to learn this weekend and can’t wait to come back with fresh ideas and inspiration for Tutus and Tendus and 2nd Street Studio of Dance

Pro tip - you can use these mesh bags for your other dance shoes, not just pointe, to help them dry quicker, last longer, and reduce that infamous dancer shoe smell 🫣

From your first pair to your last, Tutus and a Tendus has your back! We have shoes as small as toddler size five and as large as adult sixteen in stock.

And did you know we can custom order shoes? Whether it’s style, color, brand, or size, if we don’t have what you need in store, we’ll do everything we can to make sure your dancewear needs are met. 🩰

🚧 CONSTRUCTION ALERT 🚧

The entrance to our complex off Avon Industrial Drive is currently under construction and completely blocked off. We advise all dancers to use the northmost entrance off Crooks Road (indicated by the pink star). The south entrance off Crooks is still available, but please keep in mind that it can only be entered and exited via a right-hand turn.

🩰 We are otherwise operating as normal, and look forward to seeing all of you!

🩰 Tomorrow, July 13th, we will be closing early at 2 pm. Owner Cindy (right) and Manager Kate (left), as well as a handful of The Tutus Crew, will be performing with Diversiform Dance Project. We are not be taking any pointe fittings on Saturday due to limited staffing.

🧡 We will be open Sunday the 14th our regular hours, 12pm-4pm. We have pointe fittings available at 1pm and 3pm. Please call or email to book your fitting.

💚 Today is Juneteenth, a holiday to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Texas, U.S. Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, declaring all enslaved individuals free under the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

🤎 Known as Juneteenth, this historic day combines “June” and “nineteenth” and is the oldest celebration marking the end of slavery in the U.S. In 2021, President Joe Biden signed legislation making Juneteenth a national holiday.

❤️ We encourage to you to take a moment today to reflect upon the progress that has been made towards racial equality in the United States, and all the work that is still yet to be done.

🎓 Congrats Miss Ava, we are so proud of you! Ava is heading north to Central Michigan University to major in physical therapy and dance studies. While we will miss her, CMU is lucky to gain such an intelligent, kind, and dedicated student. Plus she’s a stunning dancer!

🤩 Fun Fact: she was in ABT’s Sleeping Beauty and got to share the stage with Misty Copeland!!

💗 We will miss her optimistic, can-do attitude, but we’re grateful to have her as a Tutu’s Crew member this last bit of summer! Plus, once a Tutus Crew Member, always a Tutus Crew Member!
