Our Senior Management Team had a wonderful time volunteering with Cultivate Food Rescue in South Bend last week. 🤝 This organization tackles hunger and food waste in northern Indiana by recovering excess, high-quality food and redistributing it to schoolchildren, food pantries, shelters, and more.

During their time at Cultivate, the Senior Management Team organized and packed a whopping 1,382 meals for the South Bend community! 🎉 Huge shout out to the team for helping to make a difference in reducing hunger in our area! 💜

Today we’re excited to shine the Everwise spotlight on Jasmin Zamora, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging! In her role, Jasmin leads Everwise’s DEIB strategy and framework, which serves as a roadmap for collective understanding, respect, and vision towards an equitable workplace.

“At Everwise, it's clear that we care about our members and communities—our employees are at the root of everything we do to help our members achieve financial success and growth,” says Jasmin. “Our culture remains rooted in service and our shared value of inclusion. Every day, I see first-hand how we support our colleagues and our communities. We take great pride in representing Everwise and I love to see our colleagues proudly demonstrate our brand values and purpose.”

Each year, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the U.S. As a first-generation Mexican American in this country, this month holds a special place in Jasmin’s heart. HHM affords us an opportunity to empower the voices and experiences of Hispanic/Latiné Americans and recognize their history, journeys, and achievements.

“It's with great pride that I advocate for accessibility of resources, access to leadership roles, and community involvement, so that we can continue to create spaces that promote the next generation of Latiné leaders. Personally, I am reminded of the various mentors that have supported my career, who are Latiné or allies that have been incredible examples for me along the way. This month is a reminder to check in with your Latiné friends and colleagues, understand how you can empower them in their professional or personal endeavors, and lend your support.”

In addition to her personal connections to the Latiné community, Jasmin has also spent the past eight years serving two prominent Latiné organizations. She is on the Board of Directors for Mujeres Latinas en Accion, the longest-standing incorporated Latina organization in the nation. She is also an Emerging Leaders Associate Board Member for Casa Central, the largest Hispanic social service agency in the Midwest.

We were thrilled to recently serve as a sponsor for three amazing events in the Goshen, Indy, and Whiting communities honoring Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉

❤️ We supported The City of Goshen, Indiana's 4th annual Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Powerhouse Park in Goshen and celebrated with more than 12,000 people sharing their pride and excitement for Hispanic culture.

💚 Additionally, we gathered with thousands more at Military Park at White River State Park to honor Hispanic heritage this past weekend for La Plaza's 43rd annual FIESTA Indianapolis festival.

💛 Finally, we sampled incredible, authentic Latiné dishes at the 3rd annual Whiting Empanada Fest hosted by the Whiting Hispanic Heritage Organization. Proceeds from this event benefit the organization's scholarship fundraiser for youth in the region.

We had so much fun connecting with visitors at our booth, enjoying the outstanding live entertainment and cuisine, and showing our support for the Latiné community! 💃🎶

This Thursday is the annual awards banquet hosted by the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association, an event that honors and celebrates the prominent and inspiring women that shape our communities. 🌟 And we're thrilled that this year FOUR women from Everwise will be among this crowd of trailblazers. 🏆

Each of these ladies has been nominated in the Finance category of the “Influential Woman Award,” and were chosen from a pool of over 430 nominees! Additionally, Area Manager Carrie Upchurch serves on the NWIIWA's Board of Directors, and she shares her excitement for the event.

“We've been so fortunate to have amazing ladies from Everwise nominated for awards for the last four years," says Carrie. "It's not just a celebration of achievements, but a testament to the strength and resilience of women paving the way for future generations. Being in that room, surrounded by remarkable individuals, is both humbling and exhilarating." 💜
