We'd also like to congratulate Valeria Marin Montealegre, recipient of the Vanden Brul Student Entrepreneurial Award, as well as Edis Hadzija and Nathan Irving, recognized as student runners-up. Their innovation and dedication inspire us, and we look forward to witnessing the impact of their endeavors.

Celebrating Rochester's Top Entrepreneurs

This year's Vanden Brul Entrepreneurial Award Winner is Mindex President Marc Fiore, recognized for his commitment to growing Rochester.

Congratulations to our first-place recipient of the Vanden Brul Student Entrepreneurial Award, Valeria Marin-Montealegre '26 (Ph.D., mechanical and industrial engineering). Valeria founded HUMANBX S.A.S, a biomedical design and additive manufacturing company in southwest Colombia. Additional congratulations to this year's runner-ups, Edis Hadzija '24 (economics) and Nathan Irving '24 (motion picture science).

As we approach Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, we reflect, educate, and celebrate. This day marks the end of slavery in the U.S. and the ongoing fight for equality and justice.
