Joe Marino Photography Studio
Closed for all paid gigs. Focusing on art. Portraits, family portraits, artistic portraits, events.
Marched in Parade today with the family and . Was a HUGE CROWD! Not sharing pics of the students I took from Naz for safety.
Just delivered pics to Jayden Abrams & Andi Polanski Abrams from their wedding earlier this month. Was our pleasure to be there on this special day. Thanks also to Michaela & Beth Merritt for assisting and coordinating.
Some of the looks I loved:
SORA from OpenAI is pretty impressive and completely insane for the future. This is the WORST its going to be. Drone Pilots, Stock Video generation, photography are all going to suffer. Mostly commercial/professional photographer/videographers will be the ones most hit. Hobbyists will have a place still. Get angry, or adapt. Its coming quicker than anyone thought so right now educate yourself on AI and its uses. It may just save your job.

Big Studio Announcement:
Well everyone the time has come. I have been working on this for a while now. As of today, I am closing Joe Marino Photography Studio to the public. I have accepted a full-time job in IT/Cybersecurity with a local firm.
When?
What does this mean? I will finish up with the shoots I have booked currently. After that, I will CONTINUE doing photography but it will be for artistic purposes ONLY. If you are a model and still want to work with me I am totally down. Shoots will have to move to the weekend and my availability will be limited. I still am working on my rim light coffee table art book and other projects we started.
Why:
This has been coming for a long time. Covid wrecked my business. Being I was/is trying to be as safe as possible I was very selective about who I shot with. On top of that MANY of my past clients left me during the last 2 years. People that year in and year out would come to me for their family portraits just stopped. They would share their new photos all over social media and it really hurt. Running your own small business is incredibly hard.
What is next:
Well, I have NO plans on selling any of my gear. I still have some fun/exciting shoots to do. I may have some old props and backdrops I may be letting go of. I might just give them away to photogs that are just starting out.
Anyway.
There are some of you that supported me unrelentingly throughout the years and I love you. I love the clients that abandoned me as well, I get it. Thank you all for a wonderful 6 years of my dream. It's not over, it's just a different dream.
❤️ - Joe & Michaela

Due to Covid and public health we will be cancelling all indoor studio shoots planned for the next 2 months. Outdoor shoots will still go as planned! Thank you for understanding
Well its a new year 2022 and I am looking forward to what this year brings. I wanted to go over some changes that for veteran customers of our studio will be significant.
To the new folks, welcome and this will all feel like normal because, well, you are new here :)
First big change:Our Store - I will be selling prints now directly from me. I was using a print service in the past and for large format orders or specialty items like metal, canvas or books I will be still using a service. The store will go live sometime mid January.
2nd Change: - In every artists life they have to start to focus on what makes them happy and what they feel they can give 100% to. I have decided to stop doing infant, young child sessions. Its not that I do not love working with kids, there is just a whole slew of reasons that I feel that it may be best to find a photographer that specializes in that sort of work. That leads me to why I am stopping infant sessions.
3rd Change - I want to focus on family portraiture, specifically outdoors. I will maintain a studio and we can always shoot in there but setup for the studio takes me a very long time and I really love the look of natural light photos much more. It is more challenging but more rewarding for me.
4th change I will no longer be providing digital copies with every order. Maybe I was being overly optimistic or being overly helpful but giving away the full size edited files to clients often left me scratching my head. Either they didn’t have a pc/Mac to download them to or they went to a budget print place (Walmart etc) to get prints made. Fact is I have always offered prints at same or below the cost of those places but my clients never asked for them. So, I will be offering print packages ONLY from now on. You can buy digital files as you would at any studio (like JC Penny) and you will get them on a USB thumb drive. The files will be suitable for social media posting but will not be good for large prints.
What does all of this mean? I want to focus on the experience here at our studio. I want our clients to feel taken care of from beginning to end. From the moment they contact me for a session until I hand them their prints, I want it to be a curated and known experience from me.
You, as my client deserve this and I feel this will help tremendously going forward. Expectations are key Thanks everyone!
Please contact me if you have any questions - joe @ joepx.com
Just a little reminder that as of January 1st 2022 we will have a new pricing model as digital files will be a separate item. I will also have some instructional videos for how to receive your digital files. Thank you everyone!
