The Commons Evangelical Covenant Church
Journeying with God to see a world transformed, neighborhoods renewed, and people brought to life. So, we seek to be the best possible neighbors.
WE DESIRE TO BE A CHURCH THAT IS:
+ WOVEN
If by nature a city is a fabric of persons, families, businesses, schools, civic and municipal bodies, then we want to be a thread that is woven within and throughout that fabric. We are not content to sit atop or alongside the tapestry that is our city - simply a provider of religious goods and services - aloof and independent. We long for shared spaces
Be in prayer for a radical encounter with the Spirit of God for those attending Holy Spirit Weekend/Alpha Day Away at Crossway Christian Church in Nashua.
It may be (nearly) November, but it feels like summer's back for the day. So we're taking our DOXOLOGY worship & prayer gathering back to the patio, one more time! || TONIGHT (10/31) 7pm @ 153 Charles St Rochester, NH 03867. Bring a chair, and we'll see you there!
Come because you’re hungry.
Come because you’re skeptical.
Come because you’re lonely.
Come because you’re curious.
Whatever brings you to the table, whatever the state of your soul, wherever you find yourself in life right now - come to Alpha.
Dinner begins at 6:30pm - join us for a short talk on a topic of faith, and an open discussion afterward. Eat, make friends, and ask questions.
11 weeks, starting NEXT Monday 9/16 @ 159 Rochester Hill Rd

*Patio Fire* DOXOLOGY Prayer & Worship. 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday 8/28) @ 153 Charles St. Rochester.
All are welcome! Come, Sing, and lift our city up in Prayer together!
We are intentionally “small.”
The Commons is made up of many smaller churches/congregations that we like to call “Tables.” Tiny communities that gather around dining room tables and living rooms every second and fourth Sunday throughout the Rochester and Dover area.
Why do we do this? Is it just to be different?
No. We do this because discipleship and mission can’t happen from a church pew.
We do this because being the church isn’t singing a few songs and a good sermon; it’s choosing to follow Jesus - long obedience in the same direction - and that’s not something we were created to do alone.
We do this because life takes many radical left turns and when things fall apart you need community, a place you are known, accounted for, and understood.
We do this because the ache for belonging is real, valid, and baked into our design as creatures - and we don’t find that in a crowd, but in a family.
If you’re spiritually homeless, weary, or hungry, come join us at a Table. One meets this Sunday at 159 Rochester Hill Rd at 4pm
Bring your burdens, questions, family, or just yourself for a meal, connection, and study.

Looking for a place to belong, to heal, to ask questions, to hear truth, to find a mission?
We are a church assembled of several parts spread out around living rooms and dining room tables across Rochester & Dover. One body, many members. Twice a month we come together to be united with one another as one singular family in prayer, worship, and proclamation of His Word and to sit at His table.
Some call that “church;” we like to call it “Gathering.”
Come gather with us.
This Sunday and every first and third Sundays at 4pm.

5 *Jesus Approved* Ways to be Politically Active in 2024
1. Love God - align yourself, with the best of your ability, with the heart of God in all things, honoring Him in thought, word, and deed, following His commands for yourself, and imitating Him and His heart for the world
2. Love your neighbor - refrain from seeing anything but the Image of God first, be kind, and seek to build up and encourage rather than oppose those around you.
3. Love your enemy - all of the above, even if they don’t share your politics, religion, race, heritage, culture, or ideology
4. Serve the poor and those in need in your immediate vicinity - find ways to support those who find themselves without the means to fully support themselves and refrain from making judgments and assumptions about their character or story before you offer your help.
5. Seek the Kingdom first - live in the world as a foreigner from another land. Before country, before party, before preferred candidate, before all national, ethnic, or political identities: seek that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, proclaim His kingdom and live out its ethics in a place that is not your home.

We'll begin at 4pm with some simple worship; praising the Lord for his goodness, for the grace of our fellowship together, and the grace of HIS fellowship with us by the Holy Spirit! Then, we'll fire up the grill, get serious about some yard games, and generally enjoy one another's company for what promises to be a lovely summer evening at camp.

Camp Fireside
86 Pond Hill Rd. Barrington, NH
Please Bring:
A side dish, salad, or dessert to share.
A beverage to share.

This CITY SUNDAY (6/30), we have the opportunity to bring our CITY heart right into a GATHERING for worship, as one of our community partners - Lydia's House of Hope - has asked for a chance to join us and share about the work that they have been doing among mothers struggling with the challenges of homelessness and substance abuse for the past 18 years, "Moving children and families of the Seacoast from hopelessness to wholeness."
