The illusion that regular CrossFit training on its own will result in someone becoming “bulky” is just that — an illusion. In truth, gaining significant muscle mass requires a precise prescription of exercise volume and nutritional habits that will not happen accidentally or by attending CrossFit classes once a day and eating a clean diet. If gaining muscle mass is your goal, great! If losing weight is your goal, great! Whatever your goal may be, CrossFit can be utilized to achieve it! 🔥

“Sara Wilkinson, GORUCK, and CrossFit present the hero workout “CHAD” - in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson who took his life on October 29, 2018 due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries and PTSD. Our goal is to honor Chad’s life and legacy and to raise awareness for su***de prevention.
CHAD 1000X has brought together thousands of registered participants, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars raised since 2020, looking to be part of something greater than themselves. To not only bring awareness to the epidemic of su***de, particularly among veterans, but also to help be part of the solution through the support to the The Step Up Foundation and other veteran health initiatives.
This year, join us again in paying respect to Chad Wilkinson and all those who have been lost to su***de, while also committing to try to change the number. ”

As the founder of CrossFit, Greg Glassman said, “The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.” This basically means that everything we do can be adjusted and modified appropriately no matter what your fitness level. For example, a competitive CrossFitter can easily complete 50+ box jumps on a 30 inch box. A newcomer, someone in their mid 50’s or even someone with a history of back problems could scale this movement to 16 inch step ups and even do less repetitions. Remember, modifications can always be adjusted and tweaked over time, but individuals will still see similar results! 💪

🔥 What do you do for work? Where are you from?
I am an Engineer for E&J Gallo Winery! I am from Northern California and moved to South Carolina in 2022 to help build and start a production facility in Chester County
🔥 When & Why did you start CrossFit?
I started Crossfit back in 2016 (I think...) I was bored with going to a globo-gym and just couldn't find any motivation there. Some work friends invited me to a CrossFit gym and I eventually said yes to the invite. I fell in love with the motivation I felt when learning new skills and I loved being in a class setting with the camaraderie CrossFit offered!
🔥 What is your favorite thing about CFSC?
CFSC has been a great place to build community and make friends after moving to a new state! I love that everyone is consistent with going to the gym and genuinely enjoys working out - this has helped me stay motivated and want to keep progressing in my own fitness.
🔥 Future Fitness Goals?
Going to CrossFit is my stress release and a really important part of my day for my mental health so I want to stay healthy enough in my body to be able to continue to do this! Specific fitness goals - be able to do bar muscle-up's again by learning to link 2+ muscle-up's and gain stamina with high rep wall walks in WOD's
🔥 What do you do for fun?
Eat and drink,duh! Since I am new to South Carolina and the Charlotte area, I love exploring new-to-me restaurants, bars. etc. in the area.
🔥 Favorite and least favorite lift/workout?
Favorite - Clean and Jerks
least Favorite - Echo Bike steals my soul, wall walks
🔥 What would you say to someone who may be hesitant to join CFSC?
There is no reason to be hesitant - trying new things are part of life and this gym is a great place to be! If you are new to CrossFit, don't be intimidated! The community is so supportive and will cheer on your progress, no matter what point you are starting from.

🔥 What do you do for work?
In 2017 I retired from work as an assistant in a special needs class at Northwestern High School.
🔥 When & Why did you start CrossFit?
All of my family enjoyed CrossFit so in June of 2021, I decided to join in on the fun!
🔥 What is your favorite thing about CFSC? I love increasing my strength and getting to interact with all of the great people at CrossFit.
🔥Any Future Fitness Goals?
My fitness goal is to be able to do five chest to bar pull-ups.
🔥What do you like to do for fun?
I have fun working in our yard and doing “acts of service” for the people I love.
🔥Favorite and least favorite lift/workout?
My favorite lift is deadlift, least favorite is overhead squat.
What would you say to someone who may be hesitant to join CFSC?
If you are hesitant to try CrossFit please do not delay any longer. It is worth it and so much fun!
