October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women 40 or older should get regular mammograms and women under 40 should perform self breast exams.
How to perform self breast exam:
1. examine breasts in the mirror with hands on your hips;
2. Still in front of mirror, raise arms and examine your breasts;
3. Look for signs of breast fluid;
4. Feel for lumps while lying down.
