Join us on August 6th at the Green Earth Basketball Pavilion for a Back to School Bash, Yę Iswą Ball Tournament, and a Healthy Kids Zone! Register for Yę Iswą Ball Tournament at https://forms.office.com/r/M1XRGfXnM8 by 7/26 for a t-shirt and by 8/3 for regular registration, make debit payments through Terri King or Tammy Collins through the phone, checks can be made out to Wellness Warriors and cash can be brought to 996 Avenue of the Nations. There will be free food and waterslides, parking is limited so try to carpool, and bring your own seat as seating is limited. Don't forget to join the Reentry Services and Economic Services Departments on July 20th from 10AM-1PM for a Second Chance Community Job Fair. They will be providing assistance with resume building, light refreshments, potential interviews, and hiring on the spot.

Attention Catawba Citizens: Join Hilary Harris for a Virtual Breastfeeding and First Foods Community Meeting on March 26th at 3 PM. Hilary Harris, nurse, mother, and wife of a tribal citizen, is partnering with Childcare Services to gather more information about breastfeeding and first foods in the Catawba Nation community. This information will be used to help us evaluate the strengths and needs in our community and seek opportunities to help meet those needs.

Attention Catawba Citizens: The Nation is working to become the grant holder for Title VI Indian Education Formula Grants Program for next school year. The amount of funding we’ll receive is based on how many Native students complete ED 506 forms by March 1st. The Nation has mailed these forms to citizens, and they will be arriving soon. We ask that all households with children in kindergarten through 12th grade in Chester, Clover, Fort Mill, Lancaster, Rock Hill, and York School Districts complete this form. The program is aimed at supporting services that are responsive to the unique cultural, language, and educational needs of Native American students and to help these students meet academic standards.
