Be aware as we go through this incredibly challenging time of the brains natural negativity bias. Our negativity bias amplifies the threats present in life and minimizes the positives we may be experiencing. This can cause us to start feeling overwhelmed, which can then lead to increased stress and behavior choices we would not normally make. Take time to review the things that are still going well and write them down or talk about them to increase their impact.

One way to practice mindfulness at work is to make stress your friend (or at least neutralize it). All that means is that when you face a challenge at work investigate your bio physical response rather than reacting unconsciously. As you notice your heart beginning to speed up or your breathing becoming shallow, notice that these sensations are not dangerous. That you are perfectly safe...In fact, many responses to stress may feel very similar to excitement, and heck, why else do we go on roller coasters 🎢! So try to let go of controlling your reaction and become more curious about it and see if this changes your experience with stress.
