Bloom on the Rock is happening. Our Bunny has met some new friends today.
Teens: Please join us for a pool party on March 22 from 4-6. We will be swimming at the Bettendorf YMCA. Youth will meet at and return to the School Age Center, Bldg. 150 and be transported to the YMCA by C*C bus. Teens must be in 6-12 grade, be CYS registered, and have a parent permission slip signed to attend. Please RSVP to (309)782-6515 or (309)782-5019. A maximum of 12 teens will be able to attend.

CYS and ACS would like to invite you and your teen to our upcoming trainings in honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Teen dating 101 for teens will be from 4-5 on February 7th at the SAC, Bldg. 150. It will cover dating safety, communication, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, and the 5 love languages. Teens grades 6th-12th are welcome to attend. The teen dating 101 for parents will be on February 7th at the SAC, Bldg. 150 from 6-7 and will cover dating safety, talking with your teen about dating, heathy vs. unhealthy relationships, and empowering your teen. Parents of pr***en or teens welcome to attend and will be provided pizza and pop during their training. Please call (309)782-6515 or (309)782-5019 to register you and/or your teen for the training. We look forward to seeing you and your teen there!
UPDATE: Due to the recent school closings our presenters have had to postpone this training until 8 February. We will still present this in person and through TEAMS.
CYS in conjunction with ACS will host an IEP Forum for parent on Tuesday, January 30th from 10-11 AM. This will be in person as well as through TEAMS.

The U.S. National Weather Service for Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois is forecasting weather conditions on Tuesday to be sub-zero with wind chills between -17 and -34 degrees.
The Senior Commander and Garrison Commander have approved the following continued closures and impacts to Garrison and Arsenal Island operations:
Family and MWR Programs that will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16 are as follows:
Child Youth Services: Closed
Child Development Center: Closed
School Age Center: Closed - to include bussing service.
Based on continued snow fall and deteriorating road conditions, garrison operations will close at 3:30 p.m. today. This includes our Child Development Centers and School Age Center.

CYS invites 6th-12th grade CYS registered teens to join us for a volunteer event at the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center (QCAWC) Saturday, December 9th from 9:30-12:30. Teens will make enrichment toys, learn about and play with the animals, and help create a marketing post for a special animal. Teens will meet at and return to SAC, Bldg. 150, and be transported by CYS bus to/from QCAWC. RSVP’s and permission slips are required. Please RSVP to (309)782-6515 or (309)782-5019. There is limited room on the bus, so please RSVP soon. We hope to see your teen at our event!

We hope your teen can join us for our November CYS teen resilience program event. We will be doing the escape rooms at the Bett Plex on November 15 for 6th-12th grade CYS registered teens. The event is from 4:30-7:30 PM. Youth will meet at and return to the School Age Center , Bldg. 150, and be transported by CYS bus to/from the Bett Plex. Pizza & pop will be provided. The teens will be learning about their character strengths and using those strengths to create two teams to compete in an escape room challenge.
Please RSVP by November 13 by email or to (309)782-6515 or (309)782-5019 if your teen wishes to attend. A minimum of 6 teens must register for the event and maximum for 12 teens may register for the event. We hope to see your teen at our event!

Our next Teen adventure will be a Teen Animal Encounter at Wildlife Prairie Park on September 23rd.
This 1,800-acre zoological park is home to 60 different species and over 150 animals that are or were all native to the area. Guests will learn about and see wolves, bison, waterfowl, black bears, elk, otters, badgers, snakes, bobcats and more! See flyer for more information.
