We're thrilled to be included in the May/August SMACNA newsletter for our recent achievement: a $6-million design-assist contract for National Resilience Inc.'s new medical laboratory facility in Marlborough, Massachusetts! 🏢💉 Just an hour from our Rockland shop, this project involved fabricating and installing over 6 miles of ductwork, including high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) HVAC systems for clean rooms, labs, and offices.

At United HVAC, we thrive on the challenges of pharmaceutical work, and our Vice President of Operations, Adam Lannan, loves every bit of it. "I like that work," says Lannan. "We're constantly looking for it." With stringent health and safety protocols, not every contractor can tackle these projects, making it a meaningful and rewarding experience. HVAC: Lab Results Massachusetts SMACNA member fabricates, installs duct for bioscience medical facility. 

We are incredibly proud of our very own Meredith Kay! Not only is Meredith highly valued in our office, but she is also a proud U.S. Navy veteran. This year, she dedicated herself to achieving her fundraising goal and took part in the Run to Home Base event at Fenway Park!

Meredith and over 2,600 runners and walkers showed up at Fenway Park bright and early Saturday morning, took to the streets of Boston, and eventually crossed Home Plate in support of this amazing cause, ultimately raising over $3.3 million.

This year's event also paid tribute to women veterans and service members. Meredith had the honor of participating in the opening ceremonies before the game that evening and stepping onto the field, an experience she described as "UNREAL." Congratulations, Meredith, and thank you for your service!

Run to Home Base is the main fundraising event for the Home Base Program, which provides much needed clinical services to veterans and their family members who experience difficulties from the invisible wounds of war (PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, etc.). Created by The Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital in 2009, Home Base has served more than 35,000 veterans and their family members from all over the country, and because of the funds raised each year, treatment is provided at NO COST. We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to United's Estimating team, Kenia Oliveira! 🎉

Kenia brings a wealth of expertise in Civil Engineering and Occupational Safety Engineering to our team. With a strong background as an Estimator and Design Coordinator, Kenia has demonstrated success in creating precise cost estimates, quantity assessments, and developing technical design plans. Her adeptness in drafting and estimation tools will greatly benefit our projects. Furthermore, Kenia's fluency in English, Portuguese, and Spanish will elevate our communication and outreach endeavors.

Over the weekend, United’s own Shelby Bohan (5th Year), Hannah Haddad (3rd Year), and Alyssa Bray (2nd Year) attended the 2023 Trades Women Building Nation Conference in Washington, DC! These extraordinary tradeswomen were chosen by Boston Sheetmetal Local 17 to attend this event, which provided opportunities to bond with fellow trade sisters, attend workshops, and meet with top leadership within the sheet metal industry to discuss strategy and issues within the trades.

The focus of this year’s event was ‘Solidarity, Strength, Sisterhood’. These women certainly exemplify these traits every day and are a wonderful role model to women looking to get into the sheet metal trade. Great job Shelby, Hannah, and Alyssa!

Recently, United HVAC completed a project in Marlboro, MA featuring pre-Insulated exterior ductwork. This design not only prevents ponding but also significantly reduces snow load on the duct. Our crew particularly appreciated the lightweight nature of the product, making transportation and installation a breeze. Kudos to our dedicated foreman and the entire team for their exceptional work. 🛠️🎉

United Employees were excited to participate in the 1st Annual BTEA Northeast Golf Tournament to benefit the Thomas J. Gunning Fund this morning! Proceeds are donated to The American Liver Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Action network, and Team IMPACT. We are proud to take part in honoring Thomas' legacy and support some of the causes close to the Gunning Family.

Congratulations to all participants in the Pan-Mass Challenge this past weekend, especially to our very own Tom Scolaro! Tom rode with Team Sienna to raise funds for cancer research & treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This year marked Tom's 7th PMC ride!
