In September 2022, Right at Home Portland, ME, welcomed Katie Neuguth as one of their first employees, and she quickly became the embodiment of the Right at Home brand. With a strong background in Community Relations within assisted living, Katie's dedication to senior care was unparalleled. Her passion for making a difference led her to champion Parkinson’s awareness, inspired by Right at Home's involvement with the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day in Boston. Katie took the lead in bringing Moving Day to Maine, establishing the first event in Payson Park for June 1, 2024. She tirelessly built a committee, selected the location, and raised awareness throughout Maine’s senior care community.
Tragically, Katie passed away in March 2024, leaving Moving Day as her enduring legacy. The Right at Home Greater Portland team honored her by stepping into her role on the committee, ensuring the event's success, and surpassing fundraising goals. Moving Day now stands as a lasting tribute to Katie's unwavering dedication and impact. As we remember Katie, we extend our deepest gratitude for her caring heart and her tireless efforts to improve the lives of others.
At Right at Home, our core values are more than just words; they guide everything we do. That’s why we created the RAH-k Stars program, where colleagues recognize each other for living these values every day. At our bi-weekly staff meetings, we celebrate those who exemplify accountability, approachability, integrity, collaboration, and authenticity. All recognized employees are entered into a swag drawing, and some even get a shot at our annual $2,000 travel voucher.
We’re thrilled to announce that Molly Schroeder is this year's lucky winner! Congratulations, Molly, and thank you for being a shining example of our values!

Jeanine Gagliano, owner of Right at Home South Shore Long Island, has shown remarkable compassion and dedication in her care for Gerald, a resident of an Assisted Living in New York. After their first meeting, she took it upon herself to be his driver and companion for doctor's appointments and shopping. Recently, when Gerald was prescribed a new and expensive medication, Jeanine went above and beyond to ensure he received it. She discovered that an out-of-state pharmacy was handling his prescription and arranged a conference call with them, set up an account for him using her personal email, and established an automated delivery schedule. She also managed to arrange a phone call with his insurance company to secure a coupon, reducing the price from $800 to $60.
Jeanine's efforts did not stop there. She continues to monitor the delivery of Gerald's medication and keeps track of his monthly charges, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to his well-being. Her actions embody the mission of Right at Home, significantly improving the quality of life for those they serve.

Right at Home team members had a transformative experience in March volunteering in Kenya with Free Wheelchair Mission, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity, freedom, and independence. Since its founding in 2009, they have impacted 70,000 lives through their wheelchair, rehabilitation, and research programs. A few years ago Right at Home partnered with Free Wheelchair Mission to support their global cause, and have since volunteered and raised enough money to provide more than 4,000 wheelchairs to people in need.
Shannon Mitchell, Right at Home's Senior Director of Operational Excellence, volunteered in Kenya and witnessed the profound impact of their efforts firsthand. She described the emotional moments when families lifted their loved ones, who had been immobilized for years, into wheelchairs, allowing them to see eye-to-eye finally. This powerful experience highlights the mission's success in transforming lives and bringing hope to many while aligning with Right at Home's commitment to improving the lives of those we serve.
