Acid Jayne
Acid Jayne sells wearable, usable art specializing in hand-painted jewelry and home decor as well as typewritten wellness products.
In progress…took an idea for an old painting I did (in the background of pic 2) and am now making it legit 😎
Hello! Meet Lucky the hermit crab…he’s volunteering to be one of my first test cases as I try some new painting techniques and just practice painting more on canvases, which I’ll be doing for a little while instead of making jewelry. ➡️ Today I tried out underpainting which I think will really help me create more dimension and shadows!
This is a personal painting just for me - I thought of Lucky during a trip to the shore in August and came home and started drawing this. I’m excited to pick him back up and bring him to full life with more color!

I’ve lived here in Downtown Silver Spring for the past 7 years and one of my favorite things to do when I first moved here was to go to the downtown markets and festivals and buy cool, interesting, locally made jewelry and art. Now, I’m doing the selling! (oh and a little buying still 😛)
Join me and 35+ artists, designers, and makers in Downtown Silver Spring at the Locally Crafted Fall Makers Market on Saturday, September 30th! I had a chance to visit the storefront recently and was blown away by all of the unique creativity and talent there - so you can be sure all of these vendors (swipe!) have things you’re not going to find anywhere else!
Super excited to be selling right up the street from home where I make everything. Hope to see you there! 😁

Hello friends! I recently learned that the shipping settings on acidjayne.com were messed up and charging too much for orders of multiple items. Refunds of course were processed but to make up for that I’m offering free shipping on all orders from now until the end of October!
After that shipping will only be $3 flat rate anywhere in the US with free shipping on orders over $35.
Customers outside of the US should purchase through Etsy for the most accurate international shipping rates and tax/customs requirements!
Hoping the sun comes out more tomorrow so I can take more pics and add more items to the site, Etsy, and here asap 💚

💚
For my last day at Shop Local, I wore a few pieces of jewelry that are really special to me.
These earrings were given to me by one of my former preschool students from a college job. This boy Everett was so sweet and sensitive, which of course makes living in our world hard. I was always his buddy. I see these earrings as representing the support I get from people who love and care about me.
I got this ring when I was in New York City a few years ago on a birthday trip with my husband. Wes is the only reason I’m able to do Acid Jayne in many ways, and was the reason I started. During COVID I wasn’t working and painted him an interactive board game of his life for his birthday. I really enjoyed making it and I started looking for more creative projects to take up all of the time I had, and started making jewelry. I see this ring as representing all of the love and support I get from him and how important it has been for me to grow and feel confident. Thank you Wes. 💜
And last, I’m wearing my handmade Acid Jayne necklace which I made early on. I have struggled so much with opening myself up to people and feeling confident in the things I create and put out there. Still a struggle honestly, rejection is hard, but I do feel more confident than ever and that has felt so good. I see this necklace and representing the love and care that I give to myself.
It isn’t just jewelry! 😊
Thank you to anyone who has supported me during this past year and before. I’m not sure what the future will look like but I am very grateful for the past.
💜💜💜
Today is my last Tuesday here. I haven’t been wanting to write any posts about it because I really am sad to be leaving. It’s hard to write or talk about it without feeling overly emotional. So I’ll just share a few recent things:
- I’ve gotten texts from the other vendors when my regular customers come in and find out I’m leaving and they are really sad. Heartbroken I think was one of the words used.
- Last week two little kids were in here and they were visiting from France. I was just thinking about France a ton and was talking to their mom about it. They each had $25 to spend during their trip to the US, and the little boy bought an opalite bracelet and the girl a headband. I was very honored that they’d spend their bit of vacation money on my things. I bought a ring when I was in Paris that is very special to me, and now hopefully I’ve given that experience to someone else.
- A girl was just in yesterday and got a pair of earrings and came right back today to get another - while wearing the ones purchased yesterday (they also matched the ones I’m wearing today!) She was sad that she just found me and I’m about to leave, but glad that I’ll still be around.
I’ve had interactions like this every week since I’ve been here. One time a little girl convinced her mom to spend like $100+ on my easels and to do lists 😂 that was hilarious.
I think a big reason I’ve been so successful here is because I just try to talk to people and show an interest in them and connect with them in some way without any pressure to buy or even talk about my products the whole time. Oftentimes people are just looking for some connection and they can associate that nice connection with something physical they get from me. I think that’s a big reason why I have so many people come back. And it’s also why I really hate the thought of missing out on all of that. I’ll have it back soon, with markets and other opportunities, but I am really really going to miss the feeling I get when I’m here.
💚
Come see me this Friday!! I’ll actually be in the shop all day on Friday instead of Tuesday this week - so I hope to see you! My 20% off sale is still going! This will be a fun event with some live music and food and all kinds of fun!

I processed two test orders today and everything went smoothly - thank you ladies!! I’m so glad to be able expand my audience by having my own site and I’m really excited to be able to do more of what I want with it, including behind the scenes photos and videos, blog posts…maybe even a way to sign up for a totally non digital analogue zine…the possibilities are only limited by my imagination, really! Im glad to have my independence on this. ☺️
Much much more will be added soon - I will be sure to let you know! Thank you!!
