Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. We honor those who died, their families, and all affected.
It’s International Volunteer Day! In the past year, over 200 EveryMind volunteers contributed 18,989 hours of service across various initiatives. You can be a part of this amazing community effort by emailing [email protected].
This holiday season, you can give a little warmth and joy to a service member by sending a package to someone who’s deployed overseas or around the world.
You need not have a name, address, or even know what to send. There are several organizations that have outlined the entire process. Find a list of links to these vetted organizations here >>

Tomorrow is GIVING TUESDAY - a day to unite in a global generosity movement. Our EveryGift for EveryMind campaign aims to amplify efforts to support the mental health needs of our community, and we need your help to make it a success.
These are a few ways you can give, in addition to a simple one-time donation >>

The holidays can highlight certain mental health concerns like depression and anxiety. For veterans, it may enhance the difficulties of adjusting to civilian life, exacerbate PTSD symptoms, or even cause guilt.

Donny Williams is thrilled to join the EveryMind team as ServingTogether’s new Southern Maryland Regional Manager. He’ll be covering Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s Counties, as well as Washington, DC. Being from St. Mary’s County and raised in a Navy household, Donny has an understanding of some of the unique needs of these communities. He is excited to use his 20+ years of nonprofit experience to help veterans and their families obtain the resources they need in this region. Donny was especially attracted to working with EveryMind because of the established record of providing quality services while personalizing the care and ensuring people get the specific help they’re seeking. Donny has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with a minor in Business from the University of Maryland.
Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day'' on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Since then, we’ve taken a day to honor all United States Armed Forces military veterans for their service, commitment, and dedication.
These are 3 alternative ways to say “thank you” and honor that service on Veterans Day. For more ideas, visit >> https://hubs.la/Q028n9-M0
Today is the 248th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Thank you, marines, for your time, bravery, and sacrifice made in service to our country.

“When an individual struggling with PTSD or traumatic stress symptoms is encountered with a stimulus that is frightening or reminds them of their traumatic experience, the amygdala may become overactive, exaggerating the brain’s stress response, and send signals to the survivor that they are currently in danger. Understandably, this can lead to immense distress. Quickly a fun Halloween experience can lead to a cascade of traumatic stress symptoms such as fear, distress, panic, flashbacks, nightmares, and more.”
This Halloween, please keep in mind those who have endured traumatic situations. Your awareness helps support veterans and survivors of trauma during the Halloween season.

On the western end of Arlington National Cemetery stands a structure known as the Military Women’s Memorial. The process to approve and design the memorial began in 1985 and was completed and dedicated on October 18, 1997. It stands as a tribute to the more than 2 million women veterans who live in the United States today and all the service women who came before.
