Filed legislation today to help counties maintain their voter rolls to more accurately represent their voters. Did you know a 2020 study found 32 Texas counties with registration rates greater than 100% of eligible voters?

Senate Bill 260 would require voter registrars to send a confirmation notice by November 30th following a general election to any voter who hasn’t voted in the previous 25 months to confirm that they are still present in Texas.

This past election cycle, I had several constituents reach out to me and our office to confirm that one or both of their parents had received requests to vote by mail even though they had been deceased for several years.

SB 260 is based on a similar bill by the Ohio Legislature in 2018. Since then, no Ohio county exceeded 100% of eligible voters. Election integrity is fundamental to our freedom and this legislation will aid in making sure our voter rolls are accurate!
