‘Back when I was 10 & lived in New York - my mom would pack a snack bag & take us to the club with her. There was a back room where all the kids went. We knew not to leave the room, we had our snacks & she’d come get us when she was done. This would happen every weekend.

When I was 16, I got pregnant, had a fight with the school counselor & got kicked out.
