Now that the warm weather is finally here, we are seeing a rise of car prowlers in Dayton. We want to share a few tips to help prevent you from becoming a victim!

A few additional tips to add:

Close your garage doors at night and leave exterior lights on, car prowlers are not afraid to walk in and grab accessible items.

Remove your garage door openers from your car when you return home, it is not uncommon for thieves to take them and try them at a later date to get into garages and homes.

With attached garages, make sure to lock the inside garage door so if they do happen to gain entry, they won't have easy access to your house.

Last but not least, a good camera system can help us identify the suspects, especially if they are prowling in other cities.

Everything has a starting place in life... even hoarding.
No one is a level 5 in the beginning.

LEVEL 1 HOARD: Very minor clutter that causes no issues with functionality. But the scale needs to start somewhere, right?

LEVEL 2 HOARD: Typically horizontal surfaces are covered, including countertops, tables, desks, etc. but the home is still usable and there are open floor spaces.

LEVEL 3 HOARD: In addition to horizontal surfaces being filled, the perimeters of rooms start filling as well, encroaching on the living spaces.

LEVEL 4 HOARD: No floors are starting to fill up and functionality is almost non-existent. There is limited access to many parts of the home.

LEVEL 5 HOARD: The most severe hoards where rooms are not able to be entered; ingress and egress can be completely blocked; the weight of the contents themselves put stress on the structure and become a fire hazard; there are rodent and insect infestations; potential structural hazards and fire dangers present; odors are typically very strong and neighbors may be complaining
