First Love

His name is Roady… He was the first to answer the altar call in one of the services in Peru. 🇵🇪 He told me he got out of prison the day before and this was his first day as a free man in over 10 years. Not sure what he did to go to prison but it didn’t matter. His heart is right no matter what he did wrong in the past! He said “I want to be baptized!” God is good!
This is why First Love exists!

Gods presence in Tarapoto was so powerful. People need to hear the encouragement that comes from their purpose and identity in Christ Jesus. 🙌🏼

So much excitement and ministry on this extremely busy Saturday but one of the highlights is our Fathering Leaders group meeting together for dinner. Now they all have children, careers and ministry of their own. It’s so important to invest into people and speak encouragement over them.

Majur De Valor was the title of the women’s conference Esmirna Iglesia from Thursday night. We praise God for many victories as we shared the characteristics of a woman of God. Each were reminded they are wonderfully created, beautiful and have great purpose in Christ. God is glorified.

Hombres De Valor at Esmirna Iglesia was powerful! The FLM team was a part of a men’s conference and ministered the biblical values of a man of God. Almost 100% responded to the altar call. We had several men from the basketball courts and the university that we had ministered at earlier. God be glorified!

Flexibility is important on a missions trip. Tuesday we had plans but plans changed and we ended up being invited to the University where we got to share the Gospel with 4 classrooms and invite them to our conferences this week. Afterwards we went to the local basketball courts and Jenn got to play some pretty aggressive pick up games with some local guys. She was then able to share the gospel with them. She earned their respect for sure! It’s was a pretty awesome but busy day!

On mission in Peru! Yesterday we had meetings with staff and others then last night invested into the church leadership of the 2nd largest church in the San Martin’ region of Peru at Esmirna Iglesia Tarapoto. Today will are doing ministry at the University! Prayers appreciated.

God did amazing things over the weekend at Generations Church. We are so thankful for the partnership and their amazing leadership! Apostle Dr Blessings Mwakibinga spoke an amazing word and God worked miracles.

It is one thing to GO, but that is just the beginning of the Great Commission. First Love is gearing up for an incredible new year ahead, with the intent of not just going, but going and making disciples here in the United States and around the world. I’ve never understood how a person, that was given a talent to play an instrument or sing, could just stop using it to glorify & worship God! I said one time “I never want to be a 50+ year old worship leader trying to be relevant” and here we are! I’m grateful for ministry and I’ll give my life for Him but I sure would like a worship leader and keyboard player! Focusing on 2 sermons every Sunday is enough…but to add a sound check and 2 worship sets is exhausting! I’m grateful for my Sundays like today when someone shares the load!

Tarapoto PERU 2024

2 Mission trips to Peru
Jan 27 - Feb 6
June 22 - July 1

These are two totally different trips with different focuses.

The Jan/Feb trip will be to attend Esmirna Church anniversary celebrations, visit the surrounding area, help to work the altars in prayer, and minister locally in Tarapoto. This trip will be an easy trip with little responsibilities other than ministry in services and possibly teaching with interpreters.

The June trip will be a full blown missions trip with outreaches, local school ministry, street ministry, services, prayer, Bible studies, possibly construction & and lots of loving on the wonderful people of Peru. We will be taking a few days to visit Machu Pichu. This trip is open to teenagers of ages 14 years and up, unless accompanied by a parent.

Fathering Leaders was proven successful with these solid families that are raising their children in the fear of the Lord! It’s so good to see how they have grown, both in their families and spiritual lives. God is glorified!

Investment and ministry for the Kingdom of God is not on our own terms. An opportunity opened at the last minute to pour into a church ministry team and God moved! I love God moments!

ANOTHER RESCUED!!!!!
We have officially rescued another child from the streets and questionable circumstances. We started the process last week and this week we’re able to have her at our Hope Home!!!! PRAISE GOD! She is being introduced to her new forever loving family. God is glorified!
