For the final Sustainability Challenge, we encourage you to find new ways to live green. Although competition is over, we can still live sustainably in our own lives!

The Missouri S&T is taking home trophies!!! We placed 3rd in Architecture and Innovation, and 4th place overall!!!

We are proud to say that we took 3rd place in the Architecture Contest today!!!

Dinner parties were a blast tonight! We definitely enjoy the opportunity to relax and have fun with the other teams!!!

We arrived at competition to a winter wonderland today!!! Also, jury walkthroughs were smooth. So far, competition is going very well!

‪The competition officially started today, and public tours were a success!‬

We gave out VIP tours today! Competition starts tomorrow and we can’t wait to show off SILO to the public!!!

Welcome to the sixth Sustainability Challenge: Air dry your clothes!!! This week we challenge you to save energy by air drying your clothes. Don’t have a clothes line? Try hanging your clothes on a chair!

The White Orchid came today to stage our house! It’s starting to feel like home!

Everything really started coming together today on the outside of SILO. Added plants to the green walls, built our water wall, added a flowerbed, and passed all of our inspections except for the last two: public exhibit material and final safety cleanup. Tomorrow morning our furniture is coming! Stay tuned for more pictures!

You can see our grain bin wall taking shape on day 8! Also built our movable green walls and did some major cleaning!

Day 7 was another great day! Went shopping for plants and filled our front planters, got our air conditioner hooked up, ducts in place under the house, and more paint touch ups.

Only 3.5 more days of construction! Today we tied into the grid, got our solar panels up and running, started charging our batteries, touched up on some paint, and started landscaping!

Ramp, planter boxes, and flooring almost finished! Also installed some light fixtures both inside and out at the end of Day 5.

Day 4 was a success! Storefronts have glass, solar panels are on the roof, decks are attached, and the ramp is started.

Welcome to the fifth Sustainability Challenge: Energy Challenge!!! We challenge you to unplug your electronic devices when they are finished charging to help save energy!

End of Day 3 and we (almost) have a house! In just 4 hours we craned our house into place. Just need to finish up the storefront windows and add the decks... but that’s for Day 4.

Foundation inspection complete early on Day 2! Tomorrow is crane day. Stay tuned to see our house appear on Day 3!

Day 1 of competition is complete! In less than 7 hours, our site is set up and temporary foundation is level. Can't wait for tomorrow! &TSolarHouseTeam

You will be suprised how much recyclables you throw away just because of convenience! Dont forget to make sure all of the materials are clean of food beforehand.
