The forecast basically remains the same, however a few new details. For Saturday night and then to Sunday frozen precipitation is expected to fall Jefferson City and northward along with the possibility of a dusting in Jefferson City. And sleet that way too but more to the north of JC. Down here you might see some snowflakes mix in, but ground temperatures are warm and no impacts are expected especially since or getting next to nothing as far as rainfall goes. According to KMIZ ABC 17 any impacts are also unlikely.
Here is your forecast for Phelps and most of our surrounding counties.

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. Temperatures were nice today
12:10 AM Friday November 24th 2023
This is likely very very recent as far as the time of the accident because I cannot find it anywhere else obvious at this time. But, everyone is apparently okay because of the following-
"Malone was wearing a seatbelt and the children were in car seats, according to the report."
Four Rolla children suffer minor injuries in Crawford County crash - ABC17NEWS PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ) Four children and a woman from Rolla were brought to Phelps Health on Thursday after suffering injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Crawford County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Disappointing rainfall totals. originally expected over an inch but 3 mi East of Rolla I received 0.31"
My confidence was low on that anyway. Over the next 7 days it looks to be mostly precipitation free except for Saturday night with a chance of showers.. The possibility of snowflakes cannot be ruled out, however with up to nothing is expected at this time is currently around 0.05" of rain. So basically nothing. I'm not sure which way I stand on that at the time, but leaning towards practically nothing, we'll need to let another day or two pass by.
The NWS expects things to be slightly warmer today likely through Thursday with a front passing through Thursday turning things slightly below average Friday onward. That is the exciting forecast. We need rain bad bad bad. The long range Outlook past the weekend going all the way out to December 4th shows: (outlooks in the images)
slightly below average temperatures expected along with below average precipitation. Here is your forecast for Phelps and most of our surrounding counties.

This is a precautionary recall for a brand of children's pain and fever reducer which is due to "acetaminophen instability"
I surfed for an hour working for the exact reason and couldn't find it. It just says acetaminophen instability. If someone finds out what what me know. All I can come up with is the possibility that too much or too little was put in.

Eye drop recall..
Dated November 15th 2023
"The factory produced more than two dozen varieties of eyedrops that were subject to an FDA safety warning last month."
This is absolutely appalling. Please read and make sure you don't have any of these eye drops...
Barefoot workers and cracked floors were found at a factory that made recalled eyedrops, FDA says U.S. health inspectors found a host of sanitation and manufacturing problems at an Indian plant that recently recalled eyedrops sold in the U.S. The problems include cracked floors, barefoot workers and manipulated testing records
One more thing as of 404 p.m. Friday November 10th 2023
And I put us in severe drought. I've had an inch and a half of rain in 2 months. The drought monitor is based on broadscale conditions and local conditions may be worse.
Where you see Maries County in severe drought I've thrown a little red line to where I feel it should go to.
Ironically a big chunk of the West t is drought free.....
Any outdoor burning is highly discouraged extremely highly discouraged! A voluntary burn ban if you will... Be safe. ~~~ Steve
I'm just popping in on Friday November 10th 2023 to let you know the forecast. The 100% chance of dust Will continue unless something really freaky happens and a very increased risk of fire. Let the leaves be. Put on a respirator, hop on your mower and chop them up. Please.
Anyway, there's the forecast and I hope everyone is well. Still quite a struggle on this end, but I'm pushing up to and past what I can. . Still no rain expected over the next 7 days. I hope it becomes expected soon. Somebody's going to light something and catch everything on fire even if the winds are light they could get out of control more quickly before someone sees it/discovers. ---Steve

Here is the radar and storm total precipitation as of 404 p.m. Saturday October 28th 2023 most of the gray area along and slightly north in South in area 1 hasn't received much yet and also north of that line lower rainfall amounts are expected. South of that line in area number two more rainfall but I think that line should be moved southward some.
The upper part of the image is storm total rainfall since around 11:15 a.m. Friday morning. Most anything in Gray is around a quarter inch.
Here's the summary of everything I've posted.
A big giant mess. I will try to get much shorter updates out late this evening.
I am really trying but the thing that has messed me up is overthinking everything in addition to all the new health issues and stuff. But I appreciate everybody that's hung around. I'm not totally back yet but I'm going to try and get you through all the tweaking and fine-tuning that they're doing at the moment so you can know what to expect after the rain ends.. but temperatures have been pretty consistent over the last couple days. ~ Steve

Our rainfall totals through Sunday night are gradually becoming lighter and lighter especially just above and south of the interstate 44 corridor. The upper 2/3 of Phelps County is expected to receive three quarters of an inch up to 1.25 in and hopefully higher amounts and heavier spots but I'm not confident. The National weather Service says that the chances of what I'm about to say are very low... less than 20% that you may see a snowflake or ice pellet as this all pushes out late Sunday or Sunday night.
I will post your forecast next, but a freeze warning is in effect for Sunday night which may end the growing season officially. But they say one or two nights may be what it takes to in the growing season at which point no more freeze or Frost products will be issued for the season ~ Steve
I will close this Wednesday discussion out with a few tidbits from the National weather Service forecast discussion. And an update may be warranted later to see if more moisture becomes available after the evening balloon launch takes its measurements.
Here are some bits from the National weather Service in Springfield forecast discussion....
Key Messages:
1. Widespread rain continues through Sunday. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.5 to locally 2 inches. Flooding threat remains very
low.
2. Widespread freeze conditions and low wind chills likely early
to the middle of next week. Freeze Warning in effect Sunday night
- Monday morning for most of the area.
3. Temperatures will begin to moderate closer to more normal by
the end of the week into next weekend.
The latest rainfall amounts from the HREF indicate that over the
next 24-36 hours there will be an axis of 0.75 in to locally 2
inches of rainfall along and south of Interstate 44 with the
highest amounts closer to West Plains and Alton.

Continue to monitor progress of the forecast and get out and enjoy tomorrow and Friday with temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80° before it takes a plunge for cooler temperatures and then the bottom drops out Sunday. ~ Steve

Important weather information concerning widespread FROST/FREEZE next Monday Night/Tuesday.
Temperatures on Sunday night are expected to be around the freezing mark. With upper twenties expected Monday night.
Good Tuesday evening y'all. Next Tuesday morning looks to put an end to the official growing season with widespread Frost and or freeze. The cold air is coming. Between now and Friday rain totals are expected to be blah, but from Friday through Sunday appears to be our best chance where we could wind up with a area wide one to two inches. And of course it's all dependent on where the front sets up.
Repeating - Frost and freeze becoming likely next Sunday and most likely Monday night. Any plants that you still have outside, try to get them in between now and Sunday.
Note: once a killing freeze or Frost occurs no further Frost or freeze products will be issued. Steve
