1 Peter 3 | Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Pedro 1:3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que por su gran misericordia y mediante la resurreción de Jesucristo nos ha hecho nacer de nuevo a una esperanza viva, 4 para que recibamos una herencia incorruptible, incontaminada e imperecedera. Esta herencia les está reservada en los cielos 5 a ustedes, que por medio de la fe son protegidos por el poder de Dios, para que alcancen la salvación, lista ya para manifestarse cuando llegue el momento final. 6 Esto les causa gran regocijo, aun cuando les sea necesario soportar por algún tiempo diversas pruebas y aflicciones; 7 pero cuando la fe de ustedes sea puesta a prueba, como el oro, habrá de manifestarse en alabanza, gloria y honra el día que Jesucristo se revele. El oro es perecedero y, sin embargo, se prueba en el fuego; ¡y la fe de ustedes es mucho más preciosa que el oro! 8 Ustedes aman a Jesucristo sin haberlo visto, y creen en él aunque ahora no lo ven, y se alegran con gozo inefable y glorioso, 9 porque están alcanzando la meta de su fe, que es la salvación.

Luke 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: 29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss[d] your servant in peace. 30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: 32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.”

Lucas 2:25 Ahora bien, en Jerusalén había un hombre llamado Simeón, que era justo y devoto, y aguardaba con esperanza la redención de Israel. El Espíritu Santo estaba con él 26 y le había revelado que no moriría sin antes ver al Cristo del Señor. 27 Movido por el Espíritu, fue al templo. Cuando al niño Jesús lo llevaron sus padres para cumplir con la costumbre establecida por la ley, 28 Simeón lo tomó en sus brazos y bendijo a Dios: 29 «Según tu palabra, Soberano Señor, ya puedes despedir a tu siervo en paz. 30 Porque han visto mis ojos tu salvación, 31 que has preparado a la vista de todos los pueblos: 32 luz que ilumina a las naciones y gloria de tu pueblo Israel».

Gálatas 1:11 Pero les hago saber, hermanos, que el evangelio anunciado por mí no sigue criterios humanos, 12 pues yo no lo recibí ni lo aprendí de nadie, sino que Jesucristo me lo reveló. 13 Porque ya han oído ustedes hablar de cuál era mi conducta antes, en el judaísmo, cuando perseguía y asolaba sobremanera a la iglesia de Dios. 14 En el judaísmo, yo aventajaba en mi nación a muchos de mis contemporáneos, y era mucho más celoso de las tradiciones de mis padres. 15 Pero Dios me apartó desde el vientre de mi madre y me llamó por su gracia, y cuando a él le agradó 16 revelar a su Hijo en mí para que yo lo anunciara entre los no judíos, no me apresuré a consultar a nadie, 17 ni subí a Jerusalén para hablar con los que eran apóstoles antes que yo; sino que fui a Arabia, y volví de nuevo a Damasco.
