The Photo Scavenger Hunt is a fun way to explore G-FEST and win cool prizes by seeking out a variety of Kaiju-themed costumes, artwork, memorabilia, and more! All that you need is a camera to play.

The challenge is to complete a checklist as fast as possible by taking a photo of yourself with each item on the list. The checklist can include things like take a photo with your favourite Kaiju or take a photo based on a specific clue leading to an artifact.

Players can join the hunt at any time between 1:00 and 3:45PM on Saturday July 13th by heading to the Mecha-G Arcade (International D, E, F) and picking up a checklist. Prizes will be awarded at 4:00PM based on speed, accuracy, and creativity!

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:

Hiroshi Kanatani is a professional comic artist in Japan, an accomplished, kaiju comic artist born and raised in Kagawa prefecture on Shikoku Island, Japan. His lauded works have been released in Hong Kong, where he worked with the estate of Bruce Lee, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, and America.
His projects have appeared as GODZILLA commissions by Toho Studios, ULTRAMAN and Dinosaur War IZENBORG comics by Tsuburaya Productions, and as manga comic books with P-Production properties: Electroid ZABORGER, Beast-Warrior LIONMARU, and HYOMAN the Leopardman.
Hiroshi’s original works include the manga series” COARAPTOR/ Kaiju of the Wind” and” KAIJU COOKING” are released from Texas. His graphic passion continues to take him to many events as a special guest. Hiroshi Kanatani, an official artist of Tsuburaya and P-Pro with plenty more projects to come, he is also a respected member of the Japan Manga Association.

Meet Kiyoyaka Taguchi at the Film Festival!

Kiyoyaka Taguchi, the acclaimed director of Daikaiju Bugon, will be attending the G-FEST this weekend. Join us for the screening of Daikaiju Bugon on Saturday at 3 PM.

Don't miss the chance to meet Taguchi in person! He will be available to sign autographs and answer questions about his film on Saturday 2-4pm and Sunday 1-3pm.

About Kiyoyaka Taguchi:

After graduating from Muroran-e High School in Hokkaido, Kiyoyaka Taguchi pursued his passion for filmmaking at the Nikkatsu Art Academy in Tokyo. His career in the film and television industry began in 2000, and he has been an influential figure ever since.

In 2009, Taguchi directed the popular film Long-haired Monster Guevara. Since 2011, he has been an integral part of Tsuburaya's production team. Taguchi is renowned for his role as the head director of four recent seasons in the Ultra Series: Ultraman X, Ultraman Orb, Ultraman Z, and Ultraman Blazar.

Carter Allen is a comic book creator, writer, and artist of independent sci-fi, action and monster comics. His works include "The Adventures of Nikki Harris the Cybermation Witch'', "252-Z", and "Dub Trub" and the giant monster rooster "Ectyron" series under the Warning Comics banner. His Ectyron co-collaborator is writer John Ira Thomas, who Allen teamed-up with on the award-winning OGN series "Man Is Vox" for Candle Light Press. His latest work is another original kaiju creation: "The Wrath of Karapace: A Big Spirits Saga", featuring story and writing with Leroy Douresseaux. Carter hails from the Des Moines, Iowa area.

🎮The Mecha G arcade has several collaborations this year which include Galloping Ghost Arcade , the biggest established arcade in the world; Passion Republic, creators of "GigaBash"; Loren Lemcke, creator of "Terror of Hemasaurus"; TokuPop , developers of "Excidio the Kaiju Simulator"; 13AM GAMES , the creators of "Dawn of the Monsters"; and NastySoft, an amazing team of game developers.

🎮We have tournaments running all weekend, including GigaBash (Kid's and Adults Tournament), Godzilla Save the Earth (Kid's and Adult's Tournament) and for the first time EVER, a G-Fest Godzilla Battle Line Tournament will be held (entries limited to 50 people) with SirMelee!

🎮Even if you're not in for the tournament play and just want to play games casual, free-to-play is available throughout the tournament session (certain areas will be sectioned off for tournament play), as well as original arcade cabinets provided by Galloping Ghost Arcade!

🎮Due to technical issues with online tournament signups, we will be accepting BOTH ONLINE AND IN-PERSON sign-ups (for a limited time) during the convention. Deadlines for online sign-up for Godzilla STE is July 11th at 10 PM CST and for Godzilla BTL sign-ups will end once sign-ups reach 50 participants.
