Sunscreen can help protect your skin from sunburn and some skin cancers. Here's what to look for when purchasing sunscreen this summer.
😎
☀️ Use "broad spectrum" sunscreen. This helps protect against the two types of harmful UVA and UVB sun rays.
☀️ Seek an SPF of at least 30 when reading labels. This blocks out 97% of the harmful rays for your child's skin. SPF 50 blocks out 98% of the sun rays.
☀️ "Water resistant" allows your child to be in the water for 40 min (instead of washing off immediately). Remember to re-apply that sunscreen to keep getting added protection.
JUNE IS GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION MONTH.
Fi****ms are now the leading cause of death of U.S. kids and teens under the age of 18. In homes with guns, the risk of unintentional death by a firearm is higher. If you have a firearm in your home, make sure they are locked and unloaded. Store and lock your ammunition separately, and make sure your kids and teens don't have access to the keys or combinations to lock boxes.
