Goooooood things coming soon! After doing a grass roots campaign to seek candidates to be part of this book, photographing 50+ exceptional people, spending countless hours managing and organizing sooo much behind the scenes work, collaborating with my designer… engaging our families in the editing… we got to a point this weekend so that I could hold and review my first printed draft today! Y’all!!!!! Day 1 of shooting is in the books! This is happening 🥳 we got to see and meet so many amazing people today. My aperture is opening even greater than I expected from meeting these exceptional people. Here is a behind the scenes shot with sweet Ilsa, who has a chromosomal deletion of 10q26, is on the autism spectrum, has ODD and apraxia. But she is so so so much more than that. She loves animals and in particular LOVED Diesel 🐶 Thank you to all the families who are part of this project. 💕💕💕

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a very special project this year in partnership with David Carr! We are looking to photograph exceptional people and feature them in a book about ACCEPTANCE. If you know extraordinary people who may be interested in participating, please SHARE this project.

We’re looking to feature exceptional people living with different abilities (intellectual, physical, or not so visible challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, those aided by prosthetics, etc.)

In addition to the photo features, the book will offer guidance on what is encouraged to say and what is NOT okay to say to these children, caregivers, and family members.

Lastly, we’re also looking to hear from organizations provide support and community for these ultra-special people.
Thinking employers of those with special needs, non-profits, therapy, play groups, special education teachers…. We want to share your story too!

Accepting nominations for a limited time in February and March. Reach out with any questions!

I’m in utter shock and deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Chris Truss. Chris was a devoted husband and father and just an amazing human being. I have known Chris and Aly since high school and have loved taking photos of their family since Aly was pregnant with their first. Please keep Aly, Charlotte, Claire, Christian, and all family and friends of Chris in your prayers. Gone too soon… Rest In Peace Chris, reunited with Sam.

So I was gushing over these photos during our session. Then I said, “I love what we got!” As we were headed back to the parking lot, I saw this photo in my mind... apologized to Jenni and Achal, because I wanted to get THIS shot! I’m so glad I did, because this is my favorite! Congratulations! Can’t wait to capture your wedding next year!

Gushing over these two. I love photographing newborns, especially when I have a personal connection with the family. Next month, this new momma of two and I will celebrate 20 years of friendship!!! So happy for you !
