Hi. Hello. Hey. It’s been a minute.

Things have been much busier in the winter months now that my kids are older. It’s got me thinking about this up coming fall season and how much I can take on. Both of my boys will be in school full time with after school activities and if you know anything about me it’s that I like to have white space on my calendar. This means that my openings for the fall family sessions will be very limited. I will also only be doing morning in home sessions after Day Light Savings (first week in November). My boys get off the bus pretty late and I want to be here. When golden hour starts at 4:30, they will have been gone all day at school and I won’t be able to see them until bed time, and that just doesn’t work for me. With limited availability comes price increases (😩 I know, I’m sorry) BUT these won’t apply for my spring and summer work. While I know everyone wants fall photos for holiday cards, I encourage you to consider a spring/summer session instead. I will have plenty of availability and you will get my current pricing.

It’s been a minute since I’ve done a senior session, and as a mom who sometimes mourns her kids being little, this is exactly what I needed! I know I might get some pushback, but teenagers are awesome.

And while it may be the algorithm, I’d like to tell myself that people are no longer living online, they are talking to their friends, playing with their kids, reading a book, cooking something delicious, and that is why they don’t see my post.

The desire to keep the entire grid a consistent edit is holding artists/photographers back from things they want to try, or even worse, things they are proud of.

If it isn’t obvious, I am no longer actively marketing on this page anymore. I am completely content with the amount of work I’ve been bringing in over the last year and I’m just in a different place with my business as a whole. My oldest will be in school full time next year and I know I will want to spend more time with him when he is home. So what does that mean? It means I won’t be taking on as many clients. I am wracking my brain to figure out how I will be booking come the fall and i just wanted to put my thought process out into the world. Will I raise my prices? Will I offer mini sessions? I don’t know. I do know that there are a ton of creative projects I want to do going forward and I will be offering those at a discounted rate. I am playing MAJOR catch up from being unable to work the first two and a half weeks of the month (🦠😩). My kids school has an event, it seems, every day. ANNNNDDDDDD yesterday afternoon my computer deleted all of my edited work I was about to send off. Overwhelmed is an understatement. If you are waiting on a gallery, an email, a sign of life, your patience is VERY much appreicted because I’m gonna need a hot minute.

I’m having a hard time sharing things that I’m proud of on this page because it’s not really what I market myself as here. Butttttttttt my work with Gate City is really fun and I’m so grateful that the opportunity presented itself. I laugh when I think about how drastically it has changed my opinion of social media. 10 months ago I was ready to deactivate my Instagram and now I’m a Social Media Director of the coolest place in my town. Life is weird.
