Johnson Custom Pools is hiring a full-time, temporary administrative position in our Pflugerville office
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a clerical assistant. The responsibilities of the clerical assistant include answering and directing calls, sorting the daily mail, maintaining filing systems, and typing up forms and other copy.
We require excellent organizational and administrative skills, good communication skills, strong telephone etiquette, and great computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Quickbooks.
Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:
• Answering and directing calls, taking messages, and making phone calls on behalf of the company.
• Sorting and distributing the daily mail.
• Using office equipment to check emails, send faxes, make copies, and update computer databases.
• Typing forms, correspondence, memos, and other materials.
• Sorting, filing, and maintaining filing systems for efficient recordkeeping and easy retrieval.
• Maintaining inventory on office supplies.
• Completing assignments and projects according to instructions from supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned.
Pay will be $16/hour.

Pool Service Technician (Austin)

compensation: Starting at $15 or higher based on experience

We are looking for a quality full-time pool service tech to start immediately.
Experience is preferred but not mandatory. We will train the right person.
Hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri
Job description includes cleaning of residential pools and spas, balancing water chemistry, as well as taking care of minor repairs. Chosen applicants will be provided a company truck, all equipment, and chemicals to be used during business hours.

Requirements:
Have a valid driver's license with clean driving record and be able to pass a background check
Must be at least 21 years old
Able to lift 50lbs

Compensation based upon Experience

As of today, our office is without heat and the roads are still iced. We will be in the office on Saturday to begin making a log of customers that need service and repair. If you have left a message or sent an email you do not need to do anything further at this time. If you do not hear from us tomorrow, please call the office on Monday. We will try to respond to your issue as soon as possible.

EMERGENCY WEATHER TIPS:

Your control system should be in Freeze Protection Mode and this will keep the pumps running. Continue to monitor the system to make sure that everything continues to run.

IF THE POWER STAYS OFF:

Close the valves and then open the pump traps and take off the drain plug in front of the pump.

You can also take the plug out of the filter and drain the water out of the filter. This will save the pump and filter.

You only want to drain the pump and filter if the power does not come back on.

If you are in a rolling blackout do not do this!

Helpful tip: Your pool pumps should be running 24/7 during this cold snap.

Per the City of Austin’s Stay Home – Work Safe Instructions, Johnson Custom Pools will be able to continue working during the shelter in place orders under the following two categories:

1. Critical Infrastructure - Construction

2. Critical Trades – Pool cleaners.

These orders are in effect from midnight March 24 through April 13, 2020.

We are blessed by our large office space and we are able to practice social/employee distancing. We have strict protocol in place regarding washing hands, restroom facility use and health practices.  Our field employees have also been given strict instructions on protocol regarding the coronavirus. We will continue to work out of our office space until we are required not to do so. Until then, we are open for business.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

According to the CDC, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.

If you are concerned, please call us at 512 346 3288. We can test your chemicals to ensure that your pool has been properly treated.
