Round Rock Sertoma
Round Rock Sertoma - Join us in caring for our community and helping others in need. GOOD PEOPLE DOING GOOD THINGS FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND HAVING FUN DOING IT!
Round Rock Sertoma appreciates Gerald Pohlmeyer, CIP Program Manager, spending time with members this morning highlighting transportation projects in the Round Rock community.
Williamson County Commisioner, Precinct 2, Cynthia Long was the quest speaker at the Round Rock Sertoma meeting on Wednesday June 5, 2024. Sertoma members appreciated her valuable insight into CAMPO objectives for the coming year. Many thanks to her for taking time to visit our club meeting.
Thanks to Round Rock Fire Chief Shane Glaiser, for joining us at our SERTOMA meeting this morning! Thanks for the update!
Round Rock Sertoma President Jim Brock presented a check to Jeff Andresen, President / CEO of the YMCA of Central Texas. Jeff is in charge of developing and expanding opportunities for the YMCA of Central Texas. Many of the children and families throughout our community would benefit from programs and services offered by the YMCA but cannot afford to participate. These funds assure that financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
Throughout the year Sertomans volunteer many hours contributing their time, talent and treasures to help others in the community. On Saturday March 2, 2024 the Round Rock Sertoma club held an Appreciation banquet to celebrate accomplishments.
During the banquet the club presented a check to the Round Rock High School JrROTC program for their assistance in the 2023 Christmas tree fundraiser.
A plaque was also presented to Kent Macaulay for his significant hours of volunteerism.
The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce held the 56th Annual Business Awards on Wednesday February 8, 2024. Sertoma member Greg Rabaey and his wife Pam were honored as recipients of the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation's 2023 Philanthropy Award.
On Saturday February 3, 2024 Round Rock Sertoma was an active sponsor of the Annual School for the Deaf
Pancake Breakfast, hosted by Share The Will Foundation. Several hundred pancake, egg and bacon breakfasts were prepared and served. The event this year raised approximately $14,000, which all goes directly to the students to help advance their studies. A major part of the funds is used to purchase laptops for students who don't have the means to purchase their own.
Round Rock Sertoma participated in the delivery of about 60 meals to 9 Round Rock Fire Stations. Other Sponsored meals were delivered to Round Rock Police and Hope Alliance.
Thanks to everyone who supported the event, especially
Kent Macauley, who helped run meal prep this year.
