✨ Explore what moves you ✨

Miss Elyse is a recent graduate of Heath High School and will be attending Rutgers University in the fall of 2023 as an Honors College student. While at Rutgers, she will be studying biochemistry and music theory.

Elyse has been dancing for 15 years! She has trained in various styles but has mainly focused on ballet, tap, musical theatre and contemporary. In the summer of 2021, Elyse was invited to attend the Broadway Bootcamp program at the Institute of American Musical Theatre.

Elyse has performed many roles in various ballets at RDA, including Clara (The Nutcracker), Belle’s Father (Beauty and the Beast), and Liberty Bell (Stars and Stripes). In addition to dance, she has also participated in choir for 8 years where she advanced to the Texas State Solo Competition twice and earned a chair in the TMEA Area Round of state choir auditions this past winter. In April 2022, Elyse traveled to New York City with her select acappella group to compete at ICHSA Finals. In the 2022-2023 season, Elyse received three awards for outstanding student choreography at various competitions.

Elyse has worked as a Teaching Assistant at RDA since June 2019 and started training to become a teacher in January 2023. She has worked with many students, ages 2 to 14, and is extremely grateful for the knowledge and experience she's gained through her participation in the TA program. Elyse has begun her foray into teaching this sumer and is doing amazing! We are so happy to have her as part of the RDA family 🤗💕

Whether you are preparing for a pirouette or an audition, doing your best today will prepare you for your dreams in the future. It reminds us that we need to work hard today and do our best in order to chase our future dreams. In addition, if you wish to succeed, you must appreciate the importance of living in the present.

Brittany Maracalin has been employed with Richardson ISD as a Kindergarten teacher and is now teaching for RDA. 🥳

She is a May 2019 graduate from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Early Childhood. While at SFA, Brittany performed with Dancers Against Cancer Organization.

Brittany started dancing at the age of 3. At age 6, she began taking dance classes at Rowlett Dance Academy. During her time at Rowlett Dance Academy, she took several classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary. She was also a member of Performance Company. In 2008 she won the Molly Beal Scholarship award at Rowlett Dance Academy.

Brittany has compassion for working with students and helping them realize their own potential in reaching their goals, and we love that she is now part of our family 😍

Please welcome Miss Michelle to the RDA family 🥳💕💃

Michelle teaches Hip Hop, Drill Team Prep, and Adult Hip Hop at RDA.

Michelle has choreographed numerous Hip Hop and Jazz Funk routines for studio 7, Providance PAC, and the Golden Debs (which has been showcased and performed during numerous performances for the Royse City Community). She was the Team Captain for the Award Winning Royse City High School Golden Debs for 2 years, a Division I Soloist, and a TDEA All-State Dancer in 2020! She was a Semi-Finalist for the try-outs of the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blues Choreography Competition, and she has had soloists that have made college and high school teams! Michelle has also guest taught at Acrotex Gymnastics in Austin, TX teaching Hip Hop dance. She is well known for her crazy facials and love for Hip-Hop dance. This year Michelle will be taking a Hip Hop crew to World of Dance nationals in California!

Michelle has had the opportunity to dance with and learn from many top dancers and teachers worldwide, such as Fikshun (from NBC’s World of Dance), Teddy Forance (a Co-Founder of CLI Studios who has performed with numerous top musical artists such as Madonna and Janet Jackson, and also performed at the Oscars, Emmys, Dancing with the stars, Ellen, Good Morning America, and with Cirque Du Soleil), Angel Roberts (a Nationally recognized choreographer, dancer, teacher, and award-winning costume designer), Hayley Mac Cooper, Gev Manoukian, Mary Ann Lamb, and several other professional dancers, teachers, and choreographers such as Octavia Ellison, Terrill Mitchell, and Harry Feril.

She brings so much knowledge, talent, artistic style, joy, and expression wherever she dances, and we are pleased to have her as part of our family!!

Please welcome our new teacher Kristal Torres 🥳

Kristal Torres found dance at the age of 9. She continued to study dance and attended DuPont Manual Youth Performing Arts High School while dancing with Louisville Ballet Civic Company throughout high school. Shortly thereafter, Kristal attended Marymount Manhattan College to study Fine Arts.

While traveling with her family, Kristal began teaching dance and has continued for over ten years. While most of her teaching career has taken place in the great state of Texas (El Paso and Killeen), she has also had the privilege of teaching overseas in Bamberg, Germany. Kristal is a former dancer for Walt Disney World and has performed in the famous show Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom and The Disney Channel Rocks Show, Monster U at Hollywood Studios.
