Capital Live Scan Affiliates, employees, community members, and friends,

As many of you may know, Capital Live Scan’s President and Founder, Jeff Schweig, has been battling cancer for some time now. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you Jeff passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by his loved ones on January 29th.

His wife, Linda, has been acting as the company’s CEO for the past few years and has become very familiar with our operations. As we transition leadership of the company over to her, we are making preparations so the change of hands is seamless. Linda has 30 years of experience with the California Department of Justice under her belt, and has been an invaluable member of our team while working with CLS. Rest assured, the company is in good hands.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that Jeff valued each and every one of you and all the relationships he formed while building this company. I’m sure there are many of you who were first approach by Jeff himself, pitching the concept of setting up a machine and dropping off business cards on multiple occasions. He loved the interactions he had with his customers and the relationships he built along the way. He was a very passionate man when it came to this business, and he held a strong belief in protecting the public through our company and our partnerships with our community. We hope you see the value you bring as customers, employees, affiliates and friends to each of your communities through live scan services; all of you are truly “keeping our neighborhood safe, one fingerprint at a time”.

The Team at Capital Live Scan as well as the Schweig Family want to thank you for the loyalty and support you continue to show us into this new chapter. True to his fashion, we don’t want to leave off with sadness weighing us down, but with excitement and determination at what lies ahead.

Thank you for keeping Jeff’s dream alive.

At Capital Live Scan, we mostly focus on digital live scan fingerprinting, but we still do ink fingerprinting cards similar to the ones seen in the picture above which dates back to the early 1930s. Although ink fingerprinting is a bit more of a messy process, it’s a great option for those living outside of California or those unable visit one of our locations to be fingerprinted.
