MARCH 3RD (GIRLS DAY) is coming fast. If you are interested in the sakura mochi, please place an order. We are filling the order but limited on the walk-in. The domiyoji (sakura mochi) shelf life is shorter then the regular mochi because it is made with sweet rice. Thank you and have a great day

October 6, 2022 was a special day for us at OSAKA YA. We felt especially privileged to be one of the attendees to receive an plaque at the Burnett Awards hosted by the Brunett family and the Sacramento History Allience. In 1963, my parents, "Kenji & Asako Nakatani" started the business, OSAKA YA, they were truly the foundation that build up OSAKA YA to where it is today. We would like to thank our customers from the bottom of our hearts for all their support and hope for their continued support in the future.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
HOPE THIS YEAR WILL BE BETTER THEN LAST YEAR. WE ARE DONE WITH THE KOMOCHI AND RECOVERING FROM THE BUSY AND FAST KOMOCHI RUSH. WE ARE ON VACATION NOW AND WILL BE OPENING FOR BUSINESS ON JANUARY 13TH FOR OUR MOCHI AND MANJU, ALSO, OUR SNOW CONE WINDOW WILL BE OPENING ON APRIL 1ST.

NEW YEAR'S KOMOCHI ORDER:
I know new year is a couple of months away, but, we are taking orders now so I can have an idea on how much sweet rice to order for this holidays. This year is different from the past years from the covid and there won't have too much holiday gathering. We will be making komochi fresh every day from December 26th to 31st.

This year the hot weather is lasting longer then usual. We are planning to keep the shave ice running as long as the weather stays warm. Our shave ice hours are:
Monday through Thursday 10 to 4
Friday through Sunday
10 to 6

This year is going fast. We are hitting into February already. That means we are going to start selling SAKURA MOCHI (sweet rice with the cherry leaf ) starting feburary 1st. We will have it every Saturday. Please place an order if you can, so I can make sure you get your order. I do have to soak the sweet rice from the night before, so if I run out, I can't make it until I soak the rice over night again. Thank you and hope to see you soon.

Girl's day is just around the corner. If you are interested in the girl's mochi please place order because it takes a day and a half to make it.

Our summer is ending fast, but, we haven't stop serving our shave ice yet. We are going to continue while the weather is warm. We did change our store hours to the winter hours now.
