The latest project in the WOT Garage!

Photos from Wide Open Throttle Garage's post 11/28/2022

So I haven't posted any project vehicles in quite awhile, the latest is a 1969 Ford F-100. Doing mainly engine work, like a new intake manifold and carburetor, timing chain, water pump, heater core, fixing a lot of odds and ends. Has a Ford FE 390 big block with a 4 speed manual transmission. It looks good from this vantage point, but it's pretty rusty. It originally came from Washington State.

Here's a man who really gets into his work! John D. Shank

Some pics of the T bucket that now runs and drives!

04/21/2022

So after two months when this T bucket rolled off the trailer into my garage, it now runs and drives! Redid the entire front suspension and steering, entire brake system, entire wiring some engine and transmission work, a whole lot of hours, it's now ready for its owner to finish the cosmetic stuff.

1974 K5 Blazer, original paint, original owner who bought it new. With only 66,000 original miles! Unbelievable! No, it is not for sale! Just doing some interior work on it.

Latest project in the WOT Garage is this T bucket, 350 small block, turbo 350 trans, 57 Chevy diff. Old 70s build being resurrected from the dead! Lots of work ahead on this one. Belongs to one of my relatives.

Latest project, 1980 Plymouth Arrow drag race car. Back half car, 8 point roll cage, running a 360 Mopar, 904 Torque flite transmission, narrowed Dana 60 differential. Did a camshaft change, and some electrical work. Should be ready to go back out to the race track!

Did some work on this beautiful 1960 Chevy Impala. With the exception of a repaint, this car is pretty much unrestored and original. 348 automatic

After being in storage for over two years I finally had time to work on something of mine. My grandfather's 1952 Ford F-1 pickup, still running a flathead V-8, three on the tree. After some minor repairs, (new brake master cylinder) and maintenance, it's up and running again!

Another hot rod I did some work on. Buffed and waxed the paint, replaced the taillights with 39 Ford LED lights, replaced some missing bushings in the four bar front suspension, and other minor things. Shadow Rods 27 T body on 32 rails, with an early DeSoto hemi.

I haven't posted anything in quite awhile, but this is one of the latest vehicles I've been working on, 1949 Chevy 3100. Basically all stock, so just doing some resto work on it for the owner.

10/17/2021

And got to drive on the actual track they run on. Took the rental car up to 105 mph!😆😆😆

Got to visit one place every true hot rodder loves, the Bonneville Salt Flats!

After some carburetion work and fixing the steering column, along with sorting out other people's bad work, this 1975 Ford F-250 4x4 Tall Boy is functioning properly. More work is down the road, new motor mounts as the current ones were very poorly and improperly installed.

Another fine 57 up and running good again. A few new parts and she's as good as new! Plugs, plug wires, new fuel line, fixed a few other odds and ends too.

06/12/2021

Another one to soon be on the road for the first time in 25+ years. Build started back in the 90s, hence the pastel color scheme, and has changed hands several times without it ever actually being completed. We've done brakes, suspension, steering, engine work, and now down to rewiring it, after too many people put their hands on it! If all goes well it should be on the road by the fall. Interior is currently being done by my lifelong friend Rod Jull.

Another one up and running like it should. 34 Ford 2 door sedan, 347 stroker SBF, automatic trans. Car has been together since the late 70s.

Another one awaken from a 3 year slumber. 38 Ford deluxe coupe, still running a flathead V-8, 3 speed, and stock rear axle. Mostly an all original car, only has one respray in its life.

04/23/2021

Just finished getting this 29 Roadster pickup back up and running again for the owner. 59 AB flathead with a 39 transmission. Sweet little ride!

Another happy owner! 1961 Ford Falcon, 6 cylinder, three on the tree. Fixed the shift linkage, new water pump, front crank seal, exhaust manifold gasket, installed a new one wire alternator, and fixed other shoddy work that was done on it. Unfortunately two weeks later the owner was involved in an accident that caved in the entire left quarter panel. He is fine and didn't sustain any injury, the car was less fortunate. Hopefully it will be repaired.

Another one finished from Wide Open Throttle Garage. Minor repairs and maintenance. Installed new LED taillights, and license plate light also. 1940 Ford pickup, 302 Ford AOD, 9"
