Experience Corps is a proven intergenerational volunteer-based tutoring program that helps children become better readers by the end of third grade. If you know an older adult 50+ or older and they want to be part of this change in our community…then make sure to check out our program online for more information.

Our History
The Center was founded in 1978 to aid newly arrived Chinese immigrants in dealing with the many challenges of immigration and cultural adaptation. Today, we strive to honor and preserve each person’s culture of origin. In the last two decades, we have expanded our programs to assist non-Chinese immigrants, refugees, and other disadvantaged groups within the Sacramento area, serving more than 5,000 multicultural clients daily. Through our alliance with Sacramento City Unified School District, Elk Grove Unified School District, Twin Rivers Unified School District, Natomas Unified School District, and St. Hope Public Schools, we currently manage out-of-school time partnerships with over 65 schools that provide social services, employment training, health education, and youth programming in Sacramento. In 2013, The Center was selected by the Region 3 Association of School Administrators to receive the Partnership in Educational Excellence Award recipient for our efforts to promote effective educational performance, enhanced students achievement, and strong community involvement. The Center offers a myriad of social services and summer programming to the local area.
