Celebrating Black History Month!
The story behind Thermo King’s creation begins with an amazing African American Inventor/ Engineer by the name of Frederick McKinley Jones who’s kindness stretched farther than he would ever imagine!
The all American served in WWI and later moved to Hallock, Minnesota where he worked with neighbors to invent solutions to every day needs and began to build race cars.
Among Mr. Jones’s early inventions the world saw the first motorized snowmobile, portable x-ray machine, and eventually the first automatic refrigeration system for long-haul trucks and railroad cars in 1935. The roof mounted cooling device eliminated the risk of food spoilage!
Mr Jones’s refrigeration system would lead to the birth of supermarkets and provided transportation for food and blood plasma in WWII, ultimately saving many lives.
Over the course of his life Fredrick Jones would patent more than 60 inventions, making him one of americas great inventors!
We celebrate the importance of Black History this month and the way it has paved our future as Americans.
