We celebrated the project launch of the Edward (Ted) Taylor Science and Engineering Building yesterday with WRNS Studio and California State University, Monterey Bay. This building will house marine sciences, mechatronics engineering and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) programs. This project is slated to be completed in 2027!
We have come near to the end of our Summer Intern Series! As we start wishing our team farewell, we wanted to have a few final send offs before the summer ends, and they head back to school.
Meet Kelly Khoyi! Kelly has been one of our project accountant interns this summer. She is in her fourth year at Sacramento State as an accounting major and we couldn't have been happier to have her join us this summer.

Ani is a 4th-year Civil Engineering student at UC Berkeley and is currently contributing her skills to the future Gonzales Community Center site in Gonzales, California. We are honored to have her on our team and excited to see the impact she will make!

Charlie has been an estimator at Otto for three years now. He’s involved in multiple projects and manages them all with impressive skill. Last week, we conducted our Intern Led Site Tours! Two days of our interns showing each other what they have been learning and working on so far this summer. It's a valuable opportunity for them to be exposed to other jobsites, learn from their peers, and share some insight into their current projects!

Welcome back to our Summer Intern Series! ☀️
We met with William Rolleri who is a 4th year student at Sacramento State University majoring in Construction Management. This is Will's second summer interning as a Project Engineer intern for us, and we are very happy to have him back.
Building pad is complete and certified at the Acacia Hall site. We can now proceed with footing excavation and begin structural to go vertical. We can't wait to see this site transformed! 🚜
Last week in Santa Cruz we celebrated with community, trade partners, and our team, the groundbreaking of the Si Se Puede Behavioral Health Center. Operated by Encompass Community Services, the campus will feature a 7,766-square-foot residential center with 30 beds, therapy rooms, a medical clinic, an industrial kitchen, dining room, client intake room, computer room, designated exercise areas and an outdoor courtyard with a basketball hoop, and a meditation garden. The 3,864-square-foot outpatient program building will feature a medical clinic and treatment spaces for group therapy sessions, one-on-one care or other needs. We couldn't be more honored to have the opportunity to build something so special for the Santa Cruz Community.

We are finishing up the roof and starting on drywall, framing, MEP Rough-in, window frames, and concrete site work at the Folsom Lake College New Science Building!
We are honored to have been able to attend the ribbon cutting of the South County Government Center in Watsonville this week! This project included renovation of an existing 90,000SF building consisting of new lobbies, service counters and classroom spaces, upgrades to existing restrooms and pantries, and other office support spaces.

We had the absolute pleasure of attending the grand opening of the new Fairytale Town Administration Building this week, and we are so excited for the employees to finally be able to utilize this building. It houses two ticket windows, a retail shop, conference room and office spaces. We also want to thank our partners for making this project successful! ✨

Natalie has been with Otto Construction for 25 years and has been connected to the Otto family since childhood, often attending family picnics and events with her parents. These early experiences gave her a deep appreciation for the company's culture and values. As our Chief Estimator, Natalie plays a crucial role in managing the Estimating department, ensuring its high performance, and overseeing project pursuits and awards. Her dedication and expertise have been instrumental in our success.

Another exciting groundbreaking! We are thrilled to build at North Salinas High School. Soon to be new 2-Story steel-framed building that will house 18 classrooms, administrative offices, sports medicine room, restrooms, three exterior stairs and elevator.
We can't wait to see this project come to life!

We are starting our May is for Mental Health month off strong with our safety lunches and safety stand downs! These lunches have been attended by our valued trade partners, clients, and Otto employees. These lunches are to reiterate the importance of continuing the conversation about mental health and reminding everyone to check in with and support one another.
We are honored and excited to be building the future of the Stockton campus! The construction celebration that we attended yesterday, marks the beginning stages of building the new Acacia Hall. This new building will house classrooms, testing and tutoring spaces, offices, student engagement spaces, and a multipurpose venue including outdoor gathering space in a beautiful courtyard with coverage. We thank our trade partners and the campus for the opportunity, and we cannot wait to watch this building come to life!

Last weekend, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the City of Gonzales' Dennis & Janice Caprara Community Center Complex project. This center will house a library, spaces for the local youth to learn and participate in exciting programs at the teen innovation center, an amphitheater, and a courtyard. We're excited for this space to come to life!
