Fall FTX Recap with ! 🪖
Everyone did an amazing job! Cadets were able to practice throwing gr***des at the gr***de course, learn & apply the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship with EST (Engagement Skills Trainer), and find points during day and night Land Navigation. We ended the FTX with the FLRC (Field Leadership Reaction Course) to challenge the cadets leadership abilities and have them work and grow as a team.

18.6 miles later… 😁

The Norwegian Foot March 🇺🇸🇳🇴

Photos from Sac State Army ROTC's post 02/21/2023

On February 18th at Midnight, volunteers and participants gathered at UC Davis with only one goal in mind, finish the Norwegian Foot March.

The NFM (Norwegian Foot March) was first held in 1915 as a test of marching endurance for soldiers in the Norwegian Military. The strategic goal was to be able to move larger units of troops over a great distance swiftly and in a manner and still be combat ready after the march by carrying their rucksack. Soldiers would have to ruck 18.6 miles with a 25lb ruck sack.

Thank you for participating in our Norwegian Foot March! Congrats to everyone for earning the Marsjmerket badge.

Some quick stats:

Wahiawa, Hawaii 📍✈️🌴🌈

From August 4 to August 24, Cadet Junelle Angara had the opportunity to attend CTLT within Fort Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. She spent most of her time with the 3rd Squadron, 4th US Cavalry, Apache Troop, while shadowing 1LT Jacob Manwheiler. 1LT Manwheiler is an Armor Officer who also graduated from West Point as well!

According to Cadet Angara, the experience at CTLT taught her many things about becoming an Officer in the US Army. Cadet Angara learned things like how to plan and execute major training events, conduct weapons qualifications, leadership disciplines, Officer roles and responsibilities and overall just how to become the best and an effective leader in the US Army.

Favorite event at CTLT with the 3-4 Cavs: “My favorite was definitely the Javalin PT with the Squadron Commander and the Apache troop. It was fun, it was competitive, and going through the jungle was super fun! I was in a 4 man team with Cadet Kwon, SPC Shurley, and SPC Vickers. Each team had a CLU and a Sand Bag to carry. It was pretty exciting.

Important lesson learned from your LT: “Be proactive, as a PL, you’ll have so many responsibilities and you have to be able to be on top of things, even during situations that maybe out of your comfort zone. Always be ready. Take care of your soldiers, get to know them. You have a huge influence being a PL, make sure you set the standard straight. Stay positive, have fun!”

Favorite thing about Hawaii?: “Definitely the beaches and just the beautiful scenic routes all around the Island!”
