We always appreciate an honest and good review, but sometime we get one that just blows our socks off!Thank you to all of our amazingly supportive clients. ❤️❤️❤️
Our top recommendation for when your AC isn’t blowing cold is that IF YOU ATTEMPT TO CHARGE YOUR AC SYSTEM , make sure the refrigerant you buy DOES NOT CONTAIN A SEALANT! Most cans of at-home refrigerant have a sealing agent. It sounds like a good idea, but is terrible in ex*****on. The sealant can clog up the small ports in your AC condenser or the evaporator core and cause a lot of damage. FURTHER, the sealant can damage our very expensive AC machines. Call us today for any questions or to schedule a service.
Spring has sprung! With the change in the weather, it is time to switch from heat to air conditioning. If your car’s AC isn’t freezing you out, call today to make an appointment for an AC system service. Stay tuned for further posts on AC system tips and information.
Attention Kia and Hyundai drivers. We have seen an upswing in thefts/attempted theft on Kias and Hyundais. We recommend parking in a garage or using a club/anti theft device to hopefully prevent this from happening.
Engine air filters!! We check them with every oil change and replace them as needed. This example is only 18k miles old, but 7 years. We want to keep them clean in order to keep the engine running at optimal performance.
Cruising into the weekend….

Buying a pre-owned vehicle?
If you are planning to buy a pre-owned vehicle, these tips might make your experience more productive.
1) Insist upon a pre-purchase inspection. This way you’ll know exactly what you’re getting and can plan for immediate needs and future needs. NO surprises.
2) A Carfax report can be quite revealing - in positive, or not so positive ways.
3) Be extra diligent, when considering an out-of-state vehicle. We have seen major complications arise from rusted or previously flooded vehicles.
4) Inheriting a file of maintenance and repair invoices is always a bonus.
5) Trust your instincts. If a deal seems too good to be true, it might well be.
6) Your mechanic will be happy to discuss your questions and concerns and can offer suggestions for ensuring a new preowned vehicle fits your particular needs.

With the year coming to a close and the holidays upon us, we would like to thank our returning and new customers this year. We appreciate your support beyond measure.
We would like to wish everyone Happy and Joyous Holidays.
The Holiday season often includes travel: we would like to remind everyone to be cautious on the roads.
A pre-travel inspection beforehand is always a good idea, even if it's just to insure your tires are properly inflated and your battery has plenty of power. It is also a good time to get your kid's cars in while your college students are in town for the holidays. See our pinned post for more pre travel recommendations.
We are scheduling now thru December 22, then we will be on our much needed holiday vacation. We will return to the shop on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Call us today to schedule an appointment.

With the cold and rainy weather comes a few suggestions for your vehicle.
Check your brakes, make sure you have plenty of brake pad life.
A little noise in the cold mornings is normal, but if consistent brake noise continues we recommend checking the brake system.
Check tires. Has that pesky tire light come on with the change of the weather?
Make sure your tires are properly inflated and have good tread depth.
Check wiper blades - are they streaky, noisy? Its a good time to refresh your wiper blades. The heat from the summer tends to dry out the rubber, so we suggest changing them when we start to see the rain and cold to maximize longevity of the
blades. If you are traveling to the snow for a extended period of time, you can add a winter boost to your wiper fluid to prevent freezing.
Check your lights, as its getting darker earlier and raining - are all lights working, are your headlights bright enough?
Give us a call today to book an appointment or if you have any questions.

Evert Automotive News
It’s been a year already!! August 2022 found us packing up more than 28 years worth of “stuff” at our former location on Kent Street in Elk Grove, in preparation for the big move, 9 miles north. It was an exciting time and also a very stressful time. I wasn’t sure if we would ever bond with our new location on Harlin Drive. But, we have!!
Our new building is really beautiful and quite functional - extra space, a clean and well-lighted shop, climate controlled offices and a lovely waiting area which includes a children’s play area. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to call home!
We are grateful to report that most of our Elk Grove clients are finding their way to us for their vehicles’ maintenance and repair. It is so comforting to see your faces in the new shop!
Also, we are quickly getting to know our new neighbors on Harlin Drive and Rosemont in general, a good number of whom are bringing their vehicles to us for maintenance and repairs.
AND…stay tuned: This December, Evert Automotive will turn 30 years old!! Might be time to celebrate.

As I'm taking the time to respond to our Sure Critic reviews, I am in awe of how fortunate we are.
As a small business, we know how important customer reviews are. To have an average rating of 5 stars is beyond any expectation.
We want to encourage this to grow. An honest review is important to grow a business and give new customers the confidence to come see us.
We want to encourage our customers to help us by leaving reviews on Yelp, Facebook and Google.
Thank You,

We all have been hearing stories about how bad the car sales market is at this time.
For this reason, we wanted to come up with some tips for buying a previously owned car.
#1: Have a professional look over the car before you buy. Most dealerships will provide a
month "no worry guarantee" if you want to return the vehicle with no penalty to you. In this time
you can bring it to your trusted auto shop to have a once over of the car. Pay attention for any
abnormal noises it might make (especially in the cold mornings).
If you are buying from a private party and they won't allow for a pre-purchase inspection, this might be a cautionary red flag.
#2: Ask for a detailed Carfax report or maintenance records of the car. This is a good guide to
determine how well maintained the car has been and potentially any issues you may be inheriting.
#3: Beware of salvaged titles. After the storms, we have seen quite a few vehicles for sale with salvaged titles.....from trees falling, being waterlogged or accidents. Sometimes the structural damage is hidden and can become a issue in the future.
#4: Is it too clean under hood or under the vehicle? We have seen multiple vehicles that have been overly clean under hood, only to find multiple fluid leaks down the road.
#5: If the price is to good to be true, the seller may have a hidden agenda.
#6: Follow your gut. Does this purchase make you feel excited or concerned?
With these tips we hope to aid you in making an informed decision about your preowned vehicle purchase.
As always, best of luck and safe travels:
Rhonda, Sara, Norm and Andrew.
With winter weather, and California's current "monsoons" comes more challenging driving conditions. Here are a few tips to keep in mind to keep you safe on the road:
Extreme cold weather will deplete an already diminished battery. We advise to check battery amperage regularly - we check it with every oil change.
Wiper blades should be smooth, quiet, and effective, of course
Prolonged freezing temperatures can cause washer fluid to freeze, so if spending time in the snow we recommend a freeze protection additive to your wiper fluid.
Make sure to pack your tire chains and brush up on installation when travelling to the higher elevations.
Check tire tread and age. Limit tires to no older than 6 years and tread depth no less than 4/32." Make sure tires remain properly inflated to insure longest possible life of tires and best fuel economy.
If traveling, or just uncertain of your maintenance condition, a pre-travel inspection or complete maintenance inspection is recommended. We have a great format for this.
We hope everyone has a fun and safe winter.
