Flooding @ 5:15 p.m. Saturday @ Dillard Road and Highway 99 in Sacramento County, just 6 miles southwest of the community of Wilton, where serious flooding is threatening homes and people. An evacuation warning around 1:30 p.m. today turned into a shelter-in-place order just two hours later, around 3:30, as the Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services determined floodwater was making the roads too unsafe to ask people to evacuate.

The polls are now closed, California!
Each Sacramento County - Government vote center is required to declare the polls open & closed at the start & end of each day, respectively. Here’s the closing of the Citrus Heights Community Center site just minutes ago. One last entered at 8 p.m. (still able to vote) & then the center closed.

A jury has found Paul Flores guilty of the murder of Kristin Smart, who disappeared from Cal Poly campus in May 1996. A separate jury found Flores' father, Ruben Flores, *not* guilty of accessory after the fact. He'd been accused of helping his son dispose of Smart's body and covering up the crime.
